The Aftermath of Impulsiveness

Part 15

"I am not sure you actually 'taught' me anything," you murmur, your voice laced with a hint of frustration and annoyance. You glance at Bakugou, who's still clutching at his eyes, his face scrunched up in pain. "Except that you're a-" You pause, taking a deep breath as you try to choose your words carefully. Your mind flashes with a string of profanities and violent imagery, but you manage to curb your tongue, opting for a more measured tone instead. "- a very rude boy," you say finally. You breathe in slowly, in and out, and count to ten to calm yourself down. It doesn't really work. The anger and irritation still simmer just below the surface, threatening to boil over at any moment. You shoot a quick glance at Izuku, who's watching the exchange with a mixture of fascination and concern. Bakugou's expression twists into a sneer. "Rude? Ah?" he says, his voice dripping with disdain. Part of you feels a vindictive surge of satisfaction seeing that he still can't open his eyes. "Who cares about being rude, you damn extra! You challenged me and got what was coming for you!" You frown, feeling a spark of defensiveness. "I don't remember challenging you," you say, trying to keep your tone even. "You attacked me unprovoked." You pause, studying Bakugou's reaction. He growls, his eyes still scrunched shut, as if daring you to finish your sentence. You take a deep breath, choosing your words carefully. "You know who does that?" you ask, your voice low and even. Bakugou's eyes snap open, and he fixes you with a glare, as if waiting for you to make a wrong move. You meet his gaze, your expression calm and collected. "A meanie," you end, pronouncing the word with such tremendous distaste that it seems impossible you just uttered a childish insult. "A huge, big meanie." Bakugou stares at you in silence for a few seconds, his face darkening with anger. Then, to your surprise, he bursts out in mocking cackles. "You- you're such a kid!" He jeers, his eyes glinting with amusement. You feel a surge of irritation at his reaction, but you manage to keep your cool, wondering what will happen next in this rapidly escalating situation.
