Chapter 1: The Night of Tears

Part 1

The dimly lit hallways of Streamer University were quiet, with only the occasional sound of a door creaking or a muffled voice echoing through the corridors. Ray, a 19-year-old student from Taiwan, walked softly, his eyes scanning the empty hallways as he made his way to Kai's room. His short, curly black hair bobbed with each step, and his beautiful brown eyes seemed to gleam in the faint light. He had been feeling overwhelmed and frustrated for weeks, and tonight, he just couldn't take it anymore. Ray had met Kai, the 23-year-old dean of Streamer University, three years ago when he was just 17. Kai had been live streaming while walking around Japan, and Ray, a fan, had approached him. They had struck up a conversation, and before long, they became close friends. Over time, their friendship blossomed into something more, but they had kept it a secret, aware that a relationship between a student and a professor was frowned upon. As Ray reached Kai's room, he took a deep breath and knocked softly. The door opened, and Kai's concerned face appeared. "Hey, buddy, what's wrong?" Kai asked, his voice low and soothing. Ray hesitated, then stepped inside, closing the door behind him. Kai's room was cozy, with a large desk and a comfortable-looking bed. Ray had snuck in here before, but tonight, he felt a sense of relief wash over him. Kai gestured for Ray to sit down, and Ray collapsed onto the bed, his body shaking. Kai sat beside him, putting a reassuring arm around his shoulders. "Talk to me, Ray. What's going on?" Ray took a deep breath and began to recount his day, but as he spoke, his voice cracked, and tears started to flow. Kai's expression turned concerned, and he pulled Ray into a tight hug. "It's okay, I'm here. Whatever it is, we'll get through it together." As Ray cried, Kai stroked his hair, and after a while, Ray's tears subsided. Kai gently pulled back and asked, "Has anyone been bothering you? You can tell me, Ray. I want to help." Ray sniffled, wiping his nose on his sleeve. "It's Tylil and... and Deshae. They've been bullying me in and outside of class. They make fun of my accent and my stuttering. And... and Professor DDG, he just stands there, watching, and sometimes he even joins in. The other day, when I stood up for myself, he threatened to slap me." Kai's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. But Ray wasn't finished. He took another deep breath and revealed, "And it's not just that. My roommate, Tota, he's been... he's been trying to touch me when we're sleeping. I've pushed him away, told him no, but he just won't stop. He's done it more than once." Kai's expression turned furious, his jaw clenched. He took a deep breath, trying to compose himself, but his voice was low and menacing. "We're going to take care of this, Ray. I promise you that."
