"Unveiling the Hidden Truth"
Part 7
Duke's body slowly relaxed as he became aware of Ray's small frame pressed against his. He gently put a hand into Ray's soft curls, his fingers tangling with the strands, and calmly asked, "Are you okay, Ray?" Ray nodded, his voice barely above a whisper. "Y-yes, I'm fine. You need to calm down, Duke." His words were laced with concern, and Duke's gaze softened as he looked down at Ray. However, DDG still looked frightened and confused, his eyes darting between Duke, Kai, and Ray. Kai snickered at him, seeming to take pleasure in DDG's distress. The atmosphere was tense, and the moment was ruined when DDG asked, "What's going on? Why are both the university Dean and a very popular professor favoring a student so much? And why are you threatening a professor's life over it?" Duke's loving gaze, which had just been focused on Ray, turned to one of pure hatred as he glared at DDG. His eyes narrowed, and his face darkened, making DDG take a step back. Kai, however, seemed to find the situation amusing. He chuckled and answered DDG's question, "Duke and I are Ray's boyfriends. And you simply cannot tell anybody about this. If you do, you might disappear for a while... or at least until they find your body." DDG's eyes widened in shock, and he looked like he had been punched in the gut. He was scared, not just from the death threat, but also from the revelation that both the university Dean and the most attractive professor in the university were dating a student. And not just any student, but Ray, of all people. DDG had always found Ray to be annoying, and he simply couldn't understand why two handsome men would date him. He looked at Ray with newfound curiosity, trying to see what it was about him that had captured the hearts of Duke and Kai. Ray, sensing DDG's gaze, looked up at him, his eyes meeting DDG's. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them palpable. Then, Ray looked away, his face flushing slightly. Kai's voice broke the silence, "So, DDG, I think it's best if you keep this little secret to yourself. For your own safety, of course." His grin was back, and it sent a chill down DDG's spine. DDG nodded hastily, still trying to process everything he had just learned. He turned and quickly exited the room, leaving Duke, Kai, and Ray behind. The three of them watched him go, their expressions varying from concern to amusement. As the door closed behind DDG, Kai turned to Duke and Ray, "I think that went well. The secret is safe... for now." He chuckled, and Duke's gaze turned to him, a mixture of affection and warning.
