"A Glimpse of Darkness"
Part 21
As they continued to savor their meal, Sophia was suddenly hit with another vision, her mind clouding with a dark and foreboding presence. She felt a shiver run down her spine as the room around her began to blur and distort. The vision was intense, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was terribly wrong. Meanwhile, Alex, being a line cook herself, had grown curious about the kitchen and the culinary magic that happened behind the scenes. She excused herself from the table and approached the chef, who was watching them with an intense gaze. "Excuse me, chef," Alex said, "I couldn't help but wonder what goes on in the kitchen. Would it be possible for me to take a look?" The chef's eyes flickered for a moment, and then he nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Of course, I'd be happy to show you around," he said, his voice low and smooth. Sophia watched as Alex followed the chef into the kitchen, feeling a sense of unease growing inside her. She tried to shake off the feeling, telling herself she was being paranoid, but she couldn't help but feel that something was off. As she waited for Alex to return, Sophia's vision began to blur and distort, and she felt herself being pulled into a dark and twisted world. She saw Alex standing in the kitchen, her back to her, as the chef approached her from behind. The chef's hands reached out and pulled Alex's chin back, and Sophia watched in horror as he slit Alex's throat with a sharp knife. The vision was so real, so vivid, that Sophia felt like she was watching a horror movie. She saw the blood flow from Alex's neck, down her rack, and stain her red low-cut dress. The image was seared into her mind, and she felt a wave of panic wash over her. And then, just as suddenly, the vision was gone, and Sophia was back in the restaurant, sitting at the table with Alex. Alex was laughing and chatting with her, completely oblivious to the horror that Sophia had just witnessed. Sophia's heart was racing, and she felt a cold sweat break out on her forehead. She tried to compose herself, not wanting to ruin the evening for Alex, but she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had settled over her. She reached out and took Alex's hand, trying to process what she had just seen. "Hey, everything okay?" Alex asked, noticing Sophia's distress. Sophia forced a smile, trying to play it off. "Yeah, everything's fine," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. But as she looked into Alex's eyes, Sophia knew that she couldn't keep this to herself for long. She had to find a way to warn Alex, to protect her from the darkness that seemed to be closing in around them.
