**The Dark Truth**

Part 4

Judd's eyes bore into Jay's, his expression firm but gentle. "Jay, how did you end up with that man?" he asked, his voice low and urgent. Jay fidgeted in the bed, his eyes darting around the room before finally settling on Judd's face. He took a deep breath, and his voice came out in a barely audible whisper. "My daddy... he needed money. He owed some people, and he couldn't pay them back. So... he sold me." Judd's face twisted in disgust, his eyes flashing with anger. He couldn't believe that a respected lawyer, a man who was supposed to uphold the law, would sell his own son for money. The thought was revolting, and Judd's mind was racing with the implications. "Why did your father owe money?" Judd asked, trying to keep his tone neutral. Jay shrugged, his eyes welling up with tears. "I don't know. He just did. And he said I would be perfect for... for some things." Judd's gut churned at the suggestion. He remembered the dealer's words, about Jay's father thinking his son would be perfect for certain activities. The thought sent a shiver down Judd's spine, and he felt a surge of protectiveness towards Jay. He reached out, and gently placed a hand on Jay's shoulder. "You're safe now, Jay. You're with me, and I won't let anything happen to you." Jay looked up at Judd, his eyes filled with tears. "I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice cracking. "I'm so sorry I got sold." Judd's expression softened, and he pulled Jay into a gentle hug. "You're not sorry, Jay. You're a victim. And I'm going to make sure that your father pays for what he's done." As Judd held Jay, he couldn't help but think about the implications of Jay's words. The nickname "Daddy" was especially concerning, given the context of the dealer's words. Judd's mind was racing with questions, and he knew he had to get to the bottom of things. He would do everything in his power to protect Jay, and bring his father to justice. For now, Judd just held Jay, trying to comfort him as he cried. He knew that Jay had been through a traumatic experience, and he was determined to be there for him, to support him and keep him safe. As the tears slowly subsided, Judd pulled back, and looked into Jay's eyes. "I'm here for you, Jay. And I'm not going anywhere."
