Uncertainty Looms

As Ashley stood in front of the bathroom mirror, her eyes fixed on the pregnancy test kit she had bought from the nearby pharmacy, a mix of emotions swirled inside her. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart, and carefully followed the instructions. The minutes ticked by at a glacial pace as she waited for the results. You were in there for a while, and I was starting to get worried," he said, getting up to give her a gentle hug. Ashley felt a lump form in her throat as she looked into his eyes. She knew she had to tell him, but the words stuck in her throat. "Ash, what's wrong?" Avan asked, sensing her unease. Ashley took another deep breath and handed him the pregnancy test. "I took a test," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Avan's expression changed from concern to confusion as he looked at the test. His eyes widened as he realized what it meant. For a moment, they just stood there, frozen in time. Then Avan's face broke into a wide smile. "We're having a baby?" he asked, his voice filled with excitement. Ashley nodded, still trying to process her emotions. Avan pulled her into a tight hug, spinning her around the room. "This is amazing news, Ash! We're going to be parents!" As they hugged, Ashley felt a weight lift off her shoulders. Avan's reaction wasn't what she had expected. She had thought he would be shocked, or even hesitant, but instead, he seemed thrilled.
