Earth's Retaliation

Part 4

"Not bad, you're a skilled Airbender," Kuvira said, her voice laced with a mixture of surprise and approval as she stepped back, her chest heaving slightly with exertion. Opal's eyes narrowed, her face set in a scowl. "Don't patronize me—," she began, but Kuvira cut her off with a raised hand. "I'm not trying to patronize you, Airbender," Kuvira said, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "I'm simply acknowledging that you're a formidable opponent. But let's not forget, I'm the one who's been holding back until now." As she spoke, the earth beneath Opal's feet began to shift and tremble. The airbender's eyes widened as she realized that Kuvira was about to unleash a much more powerful attack. She raised her hands, summoning a whirlwind of air to defend herself, but Kuvira was relentless. The earth erupted in a massive explosion of stone and dust, sending Opal flying across the hall. She landed hard on the polished stone floor, her airbending disrupted by the sheer force of the blast. As she struggled to get to her feet, Kuvira approached her, her eyes blazing with intensity. "You see, Opal, I've been holding back because I wanted to test your skills," Kuvira said, her voice cold and detached. "But now that I've seen what you're capable of, I think it's time to end this." Opal's eyes locked onto Kuvira's, a fierce determination burning within them. She knew that she couldn't let Kuvira win, not when the fate of the Four Nations hung in the balance. With a swift motion, she summoned a blast of air that sent Kuvira stumbling back, but the Earth Kingdom leader was quick to recover. The battle was far from over, and Opal knew that she had to come up with a new strategy if she was going to take down Kuvira. She glanced around the hall, her eyes searching for any advantage she could use. That's when she saw it - a large window high up on the wall, its glass panes reflecting the flickering light of the candelabras. A plan began to form in Opal's mind, one that she hoped would give her the upper hand in the battle. She took a deep breath, focusing her energy as she prepared to launch her next attack. The air seemed to vibrate with tension as the two women faced off, their elemental powers at the ready.
