"Facing the Truth"
Part 244
As we stepped out of the bathroom, Mina immediately approached me, concern etched on her face. "Are you okay? You looked like you cried," she said softly, her eyes scanning my face for any signs of distress. I forced a smile, trying to reassure her. "Yeah, I'm okay," I said, trying to sound convincing. But before Mina could respond, Osby cleared his throat, drawing everyone's attention. "Everyone, gather around," he said, his voice firm but gentle. Mina, Ochaco, Deku, Bakugo, Todoroki, Kirishima, Shinso, and Kaminari all walked over, their faces filled with curiosity and concern. Osby's eyes locked onto mine, and I could sense that he was about to reveal something. "I'm going to be honest with you all," Osby began, his voice steady. "I just had a conversation with this person, and I think it's time they were honest with you all too." He turned to me, and I felt a surge of anxiety. "I want to tell you all something," Osby said, his voice soft but firm. "They told me that they thought you all were better off without them, and that they wanted to die." The room fell silent, and I could feel everyone's eyes on me. I tried to maintain my smile, but it felt like a fragile facade that was about to shatter. "But," Osby continued, his voice gentle, "the reason why they're smiling right now is just a facade to hide their emotions. They're still hurting, and they're still struggling." I felt a wave of shame wash over me, and my smile began to falter. I looked down, unable to meet anyone's gaze. The silence that followed was oppressive, and I could sense the weight of everyone's emotions. Mina's voice broke the silence, her tone soft and gentle. "Is that true?" she asked, her eyes locked onto mine. I nodded slowly, feeling a lump form in my throat. I couldn't meet anyone's gaze, but I could sense their shock, their concern, and their confusion. I knew that I had a long way to go to rebuild their trust, but for now, I just stood there, frozen in my own emotions.
