"Electric Storm"

Part 1

The sun beat down on the vibrant music festival grounds, where thousands of people of all ages and styles gathered to enjoy a weekend of music, food, and art. Behind the scenes, in the artist trailer, Caitlyn Kiramman sat in front of a mirror, her makeup artist, Rachel, meticulously applying a bold, smoky eye to her face. Caitlyn closed her eyes, letting out a contented sigh as Rachel worked her magic. "Almost done, girl," Rachel said, her voice soothing and confident. "You look stunning, as always." Caitlyn opened her eyes and flashed a warm smile at Rachel. "Thanks, Rach. I don't know what I'd do without you." Rachel chuckled and patted Caitlyn's shoulder. "You'd probably still manage to rock this look, but I'm glad I get to be a part of it." Just then, the trailer door burst open and Jinx, Caitlyn's bassist and friend, strode in, carrying a guitar case and wearing a bright yellow sundress that clashed perfectly with her wild, purple hair. "Hey, Cait! We've got about twenty minutes until we go on," she said, dropping onto the couch beside Caitlyn. "You ready to blow this roof off?" Caitlyn grinned, running a hand through her perfectly styled hair. "Born ready, Jinx." Vi, the band's drummer and producer, poked her head into the trailer, her eyes scanning the room. "Everyone's ready to roll? We've got a sound check to do in ten." Ekko, the band's keyboardist, slipped into the trailer behind Vi, carrying a massive synth backpack. "I've got the keys all set up, guys," he said, giving Caitlyn and Jinx a nod. "We're good to go." Caitlyn stood up, smoothing her black tank top and dark jeans. "Alright, let's do this. We're gonna knock their socks off." As the band members began to file out of the trailer, Caitlyn caught Vi's eye, who was lingering in the doorway, her expression soft and observant. For a moment, they just looked at each other, the air thick with unspoken tension. Caitlyn felt a flutter in her chest, but quickly pushed it aside, focusing on the task at hand. The group made their way to the backstage area, where they were greeted by the hum of excitement and the thrum of music from other bands. Caitlyn took a deep breath, feeling the familiar rush of adrenaline course through her veins. This was it – their big break. They were about to take the stage and blow the minds of everyone in attendance. As they waited for their cue to go on, Caitlyn couldn't help but steal glances at Vi, who was busily setting up her drum kit. Vi's intense focus was admirable, but Caitlyn couldn't shake the feeling that there, somehow, she was always on the verge of exploding. Caitlyn felt a pang of guilt for not addressing the tension between them sooner. She knew it was there, and she could sense that Vi felt it too, but for now, they just had to focus on the show. Caitlyn glanced over at Jinx, who was giving her a reassuring smile. "You ready to rock this place?" she asked, and Caitlyn nodded, feeling a surge of confidence. With one final check of their gear, the band took their positions, ready to take the stage by storm. The crowd was waiting, and they were ready to give it to them.
