A Close Call

Part 14

Moon, are you okay? I was about to go to bed, but I saw your light on and thought I'd check on you," San's voice echoed from the doorway as he pushed it open, his eyes scanning the room. Hongjoong's eyes went wide open as his hands paused, still resting on Moon's skin, and he froze, his body rigid with shock. Moon's eyes, equally wide with panic, met his, and they both knew they were in trouble. The kiss they had been lost in was abruptly halted as Hongjoong scrambled off the bed, his hands frantically searching for his shirt. San's eyes narrowed slightly as he took in the scene before him. Hongjoong's hair was disheveled, and his face was flushed. Moon, on the other hand, was lying in bed, her shirt ruffled, and her eyes closed, pretending to sleep. "Yeah, I'm fine, San," Moon mumbled, her voice barely above a whisper, her body still. San walked into the room, his eyes fixed on Moon. "Are you sure? You look like you're troubled," he said, concern etched on his face. Hongjoong, meanwhile, was trying to compose himself, his hands smoothing out his hair as he struggled to get his shirt on. He was still half-undressed, and he knew he looked guilty. "I'm just...tired," Moon said, her voice still barely above a whisper. San nodded, seeming to accept her explanation. "Alright, if you're sure you're okay, I'll leave you to sleep then," he said, turning to leave. As the door closed behind San, Hongjoong let out a sigh of relief, his body relaxing as the tension dissipated. Moon opened her eyes, and they met Hongjoong's, a mixture of fear and embarrassment reflected in them. "That was close," Hongjoong whispered, his voice shaking slightly. Moon nodded, her face still flushed. "Too close," she whispered back. The room was silent for a moment, the only sound the heavy breathing of the two of them. Finally, Hongjoong spoke up, "I think I should go." Moon nodded, and Hongjoong turned to leave, his body still half-undressed. As he reached the door, he turned back to Moon, his eyes locking with hers. "Tomorrow," he whispered, a promise in his eyes. Moon smiled, a small, shy smile, and nodded.
