Part 4

Junhee had excused herself to the bathroom with the old lady, and when she returned, her eyes scanned the room, expecting to see the same familiar faces. But her gaze froze as she took in the new addition to their group. Her ex-boyfriend, the one who had gotten her pregnant, the one who had left her with a mountain of debt, was sitting among them. He looked...different. Paler than usual, with bruises forming on his face and other visible parts of his body. He seemed stiff, like a board, and was wedged very close to Young-il, who had his arm wrapped around him. Junhee's eyes narrowed as she took in the scene. What was he doing here? She had specifically avoided him after their breakup, and now he was just casually sitting with her group, like he owned the place. She felt a surge of anger and resentment, but as she looked at Myung-gi, she saw something that gave her pause. He looked uncomfortable, almost...trapped. Meanwhile, Young-il was enjoying the warmth of Myung-gi's body against his. He had his arm around the younger man's shoulders, holding him close, and was chatting with the rest of the group. Myung-gi seemed...nervous, but Young-il was determined to keep him close, to make him feel safe. As Junhee approached the group, Myung-gi's eyes flicked to hers, and he looked...relieved? Junhee stopped in front of them, her eyes locked on Myung-gi's. "What is he doing here?" she asked, her voice passive-aggressive. Gihun looked up, confused. "Huh?" Jungbae followed Junhee's gaze to Myung-gi. "Oh, this is Myung-gi. Young-il helped him earlier. Myung-gi was the guy getting beat up earlier." Junhee's eyes never left Myung-gi's face. "Leave," she said softly. The others looked confused, but Myung-gi seemed...relieved. He started to stand, but Young-il's grip on his shoulder tightened, pushing him back down. Myung-gi's eyes went wide as he tried to move, but he couldn't. Gihun raised an eyebrow. "What's the problem with Myung-gi being here?" Junhee's eyes flashed with anger. "He's the reason I'm in debt." The group fell silent, shocked by her revelation. But Junhee wasn't finished. "He's also the reason I'm pregnant." Myung-gi's eyes went wide, and he repeated, "Pregnant?" His voice was barely above a whisper. He looked up at Junhee, his eyes searching. "Did you...keep the baby?" Junhee nodded, her face set in a determined expression. "Leave, Myung-gi." But Myung-gi couldn't. Young-il's grip on his shoulder had tightened, and it was now so tight that Myung-gi was wincing in pain.
