A Dark and Unexpected Turn

Part 2

The room was frozen in time, the only sound the quiet hum of the TV in the background. Jason's words hung in the air like a challenge, a gauntlet thrown down that no one knew how to pick up. Ron's hug seemed to be the only thing keeping Jason grounded, his eyes still fixed on some point in space. The others looked on, unsure of how to react. Lacy was the first to break the silence, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'm so sorry, Jason." He looked like he was going to cry, his eyes welling up with tears. Silky, on the other hand, looked like he had been punched in the gut. He was pale, his eyes wide with shock and regret. Rage got to his feet, his face twisted in anger. "Who was it?" he growled, his voice low and menacing. "We'll take care of him." Jason didn't respond, his expression still frozen. Adapt got to his feet, his face twisted in a mixture of anger and sadness. "We'll get him, Jason. We'll make him pay." Max, still sitting at the end of the couch, looked like he was seething with a quiet fury. His eyes were narrowed, his jaw clenched in anger. Silky, still trying to process what had just happened, shook his head. "I'm so sorry, Jason. I had no idea." The group stood there for a moment, unsure of what to do next. Ron was still holding Jason, trying to comfort him. Jason's eyes were still fixed on some point in space, his expression unreadable. Finally, Max spoke up, his voice low and calm. "We need to get Jason to bed. He's had a lot to drink, and this isn't good for him." The others nodded, still looking like they were in shock. Lacy got to his feet, his eyes still welling up with tears. "I'll help," he said, his voice shaking. Together, the group managed to get Jason to his feet, Ron and Lacy supporting him on either side. They slowly made their way to Jason's bedroom, the others following behind. As they got Jason into bed, Ron sat down beside him, holding his hand. "We're here for you, Jason. We'll get through this together." The others nodded in agreement, still looking like they were in shock. As they filed out of Jason's bedroom, Max turned to the others. "We need to talk about this. We need to figure out what to do next." The group nodded, still reeling from the revelation. They knew that their lives were about to change in ways they couldn't even imagine.
