"Reflections of Doubt"
Part 3
The fluorescent lights seemed to hum louder as Taehyun stood frozen, his mind still reeling from the voices that plagued him. Soobin approached him cautiously, as if sensing the fragility of Taehyun's emotions. "Hey, Taehyun, you want to grab some coffee with me? We can talk about what's going on." Taehyun hesitated, unsure of how to respond. He didn't want to burden Soobin with his problems, but at the same time, he craved someone to talk to. The older member's kind eyes and gentle smile put him at ease, and he nodded slowly. As they walked out of the practice room, the cool air of the hallway hit Taehyun like a slap in the face, snapping him out of his trance-like state. Soobin led him to a small café nearby, and they settled into a quiet corner table. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and Taehyun felt a sense of comfort wash over him. Soobin ordered for them, his eyes never leaving Taehyun's face. "Now, tell me what's going on," he said, his voice low and gentle. Taehyun took a deep breath, trying to articulate the turmoil brewing inside. "It's just...I don't know, hyung. Sometimes I feel like I'm not good enough. Like, I'm just pretending to be a part of this group, and everyone else is better than me." Soobin's expression softened, and he reached out to place a reassuring hand on Taehyun's shoulder. "Taehyun, you're an incredible dancer and an amazing person. You bring so much energy and passion to our performances. What makes you think you're not good enough?" Taehyun shrugged, feeling a lump form in his throat. "I don't know. It's just...sometimes I hear these voices in my head, telling me I'm not good enough, that I'll never be able to keep up with the others." Soobin's eyes widened in understanding, and he leaned in closer. "I know what you mean," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I've been there too, hyung. We all have, at some point. But the thing is, those voices are just reflections of our own doubts and fears. They're not the truth." Taehyun looked at Soobin, searching for reassurance. The older member's words struck a chord within him, and for a moment, he felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, he wasn't alone in this. As they sipped their coffee, Soobin shared stories of his own struggles, of the times he felt like giving up. Taehyun listened intently, feeling a sense of solidarity with his hyung. For the first time in a long while, he felt like he could breathe again, like the weight on his shoulders had been lifted. As they finished their coffee, Soobin placed a hand on Taehyun's shoulder. "You know, Taehyun, you're not alone. We're all in this together. And I promise you, hyung, you're more than good enough. You're an integral part of this group, and we couldn't imagine TOMORROW X TOGETHER without you." Taehyun smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Soobin. Maybe, just maybe, he could learn to silence the voices in his head and trust himself. But as they walked out of the café, Taehyun caught a glimpse of himself in a window reflection, and for a moment, he wondered...which reflection would ultimately define him?
