"Behind Closed Doors"

Part 16

As the days went by, Kenzy couldn't shake the feeling that she had made a mistake by pushing Alex away. She had been thinking about him nonstop, wondering who the mysterious text message was from and if she had lost her chance with him forever. Emily's words of encouragement still lingered in her mind, and she knew she had to take a chance and talk to Alex. With newfound determination, Kenzy decided to meet up with Alex at the library, a place where they could talk without being disturbed. As she walked in, she spotted him sitting at a table, his eyes fixed on a book. He looked up and caught her gaze, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. Kenzy's heart skipped a beat as she walked over to him. "Hey," she said, trying to sound casual. Alex closed his book and stood up, his eyes locked onto hers. "Hey," he replied, his voice low. They stood there for a moment, the tension between them palpable. Finally, Alex broke the silence. "I've been thinking a lot about our conversation the other day," he said, his voice hesitant. Kenzy's heart raced as she nodded, her mind racing with possibilities. "I've been thinking about it too," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Alex took a deep breath and reached out, his hand brushing against hers. It was a gentle touch, but it sent shivers down Kenzy's spine. "I was wondering if we could try again," he said, his eyes searching hers. "You know, see where things go between us." Kenzy's heart soared as she nodded, her voice caught in her throat. "I'd like that," she said, her voice barely audible. As they stood there, the world around them melted away, and all that was left was the two of them. They shared a soft, gentle kiss, the chemistry between them undeniable. From that moment on, Alex and Kenzy were officially together, but they decided to keep it a secret from their friends and family. They weren't ready for the drama and speculation that came with being a couple in the public eye. As they pulled away from each other, Alex smiled, his eyes shining with happiness. "I'm glad we did this," he said, his voice filled with emotion. Kenzy smiled back, her heart full of joy. "Me too," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. They spent the rest of the day together, exploring the campus and getting to know each other in a way they never had before. As the sun began to set, they found themselves back at Kenzy's doorstep, reluctant to say goodbye. As they stood there, Alex took her hand, his fingers intertwining with hers. "I promise to make it worth it," he said, his voice filled with promise. Kenzy smiled, her heart soaring. She knew that she had made the right decision, and she was excited to see where this new chapter in their lives would take them.
