A New Day, A New Encounter

Part 14

"Honey, it's morning," Vanitas said cheerfully, his voice ringing through the hotel room. Shizuo groggily opened his eyes to find Vanitas standing over him, a bright smile plastered on his face. Shizuo rolled his eyes and quickly got dressed, trying to put as much distance between himself and Vanitas as possible. "Get dressed, we're about to meet Izaya," Vanitas said, his eyes gleaming with excitement. Shizuo's expression turned sour as he mumbled, "I'd rather be stuck with my rival Izaya than you." Vanitas just chuckled and allowed Shizuo to walk away, not making any move to stop him. As Shizuo made his way to the front door, Vanitas followed closely behind, his eyes fixed on Shizuo's back. They stepped into the elevator and then into a luxury taxi, the driver greeting them with a friendly smile. Vanitas got in after Shizuo, his eyes never leaving Shizuo's face. While Shizuo sat stiffly in the taxi, Vanitas got out and went to the front desk to check out of the hotel. He gave the hotel staff a generous tip and noticed a street vendor selling a bouquet of flowers. Vanitas's face lit up with a smile as he rushed over to buy the flowers, giving the vendor a huge tip. As he rushed back to the taxi, bouquet in hand, Shizuo's eyes widened in surprise. "For me?" he asked, his voice laced with skepticism. Vanitas just smiled and handed him the bouquet, his eyes gleaming with excitement. Shizuo took the flowers, his fingers brushing against Vanitas's as he did. He couldn't help but think, "He really is crazy." The taxi driver got in and started the engine, and they pulled away from the curb, heading towards Izaya's expensive loft house. As they drove, Shizuo couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He was being taken to meet Izaya, his rival, and he had no idea what to expect. But with Vanitas by his side, he knew that anything could happen. He glanced over at Vanitas, who was smiling at him, the bouquet of flowers still clutched in his hand. Shizuo shook his head, trying to clear it. He had a feeling that today was going to be a long and eventful day.
