A Close Call with Harry
Part 2
Marty took a bite of his sandwich, savoring the taste of turkey and avocado as he sat under the shade of a large oak tree near the rodeo school's picnic area. The warm sun beat down on the dusty ground, and the sound of children's laughter carried on the breeze. Just as he was about to take another bite, he heard a commotion coming from near the bull pens. He looked up to see Carlos and Jonathan yelling and running towards him, with William, Jack's two-year-old son, in Carlos's arms. Marty's heart skipped a beat as he saw William giggling and reaching out to Carlos, completely unaware of the danger that had just passed. Carlos had jumped into action, grabbing William just in time, and was now carrying him to safety. Marty quickly got up, his sandwich forgotten, and rushed towards the commotion. As he approached, he saw Harry, the bull Marty had ridden a few days ago, standing calmly in his pen, seemingly oblivious to the commotion. Marty's eyes widened as he realized what had almost happened. Harry wasn't an aggressive bull, but he was still a powerful animal with sharp horns. Jonathan was frantically yelling at William, "Be careful, little dude! You could get rabies from Harry! What if he bit you?" William, however, just looked up at Jonathan with a confused expression, babbling excitedly in his own language. He didn't understand what Jonathan was saying, and he didn't seem to care. Marty watched as Carlos handed William over to Jonathan, who was still scolding him. William, not having it, wriggled free from Jonathan's grasp and started running back towards the bull pen, shouting "Harry! Harry!" in his high-pitched voice. Marty's eyes widened in alarm as he saw William heading straight for Harry. Without hesitation, Marty sprinted towards William, his heart racing with fear. He quickly grabbed William and scooped him up in his arms, cradling him safely. "I think it's time we got Jack," Marty said to himself, as he turned to head towards the rodeo school. As he walked, William started to calm down, snuggling into Marty's chest. Marty couldn't help but smile, feeling a sense of responsibility wash over him. He quickened his pace, eager to get Jack's attention and make sure everyone was safe. Just as he reached the rodeo school, he saw Jack Harris walking out of the office, a look of concern on his face. "What's going on?" Jack asked, noticing the worried expression on Marty's face. Marty explained the situation, and Jack's expression turned serious. "Let's go make sure everyone is okay," he said, leading Marty towards the bull pen. As they approached, Marty could see Carlos and Jonathan standing by the pen, looking relieved. Harry was still standing calmly, seemingly unaware of the commotion he had almost caused. Jack walked up to William and gave him a big hug, scolding him gently for getting too close to Harry. Marty watched, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. It was a close call, but everyone was safe. He couldn't help but think that William was a little ball of energy, always getting into mischief. He smiled, feeling grateful that Carlos had acted quickly to grab William, and that he had been there to help.
