Chapter 7: Sports Festival
Part 7
The day of the Sports Festival had finally arrived, and I was excited to participate in the events. As I woke up early, Osby whispered in my ear, "Are you ready for today?" I nodded, feeling a mix of nerves and anticipation. After getting dressed, I headed to the festival grounds with my classmates. The atmosphere was electric, with students from all classes cheering and laughing. I was a bit nervous, but Osby's reassuring presence helped calm my nerves. The first event was the 100-meter dash, and I was surprised to find myself lining up against Deku, among others. The gun went off, and we sprinted forward. I gave it my all, but Deku's speed was incredible, and he crossed the finish line first. I came in second, feeling a bit disappointed but still proud of my performance. As I walked off the track, Bakugo approached me, grinning. "Not bad, not bad," he said, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "But you can do better, I think." I smiled, feeling a little self-conscious. "Thanks for the vote of confidence," I replied. The next event was the Chivalry Battle, where we had to partner up and work together to take down our opponents. Bakugo appeared at my side, his eyes gleaming with competitiveness. "Let's do this," he said, his voice low and intense. We worked together seamlessly, our movements fluid and coordinated. Our opponents didn't stand a chance, and we emerged victorious, taking first place. As we walked back to the sidelines, I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. Osby whispered in my ear, "You're really showing off your skills today." The 1v1 battles were next, and I was a bit nervous as I faced Shizuki. But with Osby's help, I was able to use my Shadow Manipulation quirk to evade his attacks and land a few good hits. I won against Shizuki, feeling a surge of confidence. Next up was Tokoyami, and I was a bit worried about his powerful Dark Shadow quirk. But I was determined to give it my all, and with Osby's guidance, I managed to outmaneuver him and take the win. Finally, I faced Bakugo in the semifinals. I knew it was going to be a tough battle, but I was determined to put up a good fight. The two of us clashed, our quirks and movements lightning-fast. Bakugo was a formidable opponent, but I refused to back down. In the end, I lost to Bakugo, but I was proud of the fight I put up. As I walked off the field, exhausted, Bakugo caught up with me, his eyes gleaming with admiration. "You're really something else," he said, his voice low and intense. I smiled, feeling a little self-conscious. "Thanks," I replied. As I made my way to the nurse's office, I felt a sense of exhaustion wash over me. Bakugo caught up with me, his eyes concerned. "You're going to be okay," he said, scooping me up in his arms. I felt a little surprised, but I didn't protest as he carried me to the nurse's office. As I lay on the bed, I watched the remaining battles, feeling grateful for my classmates and their support. Osby whispered in my ear, "You're really making an impression on them." I smiled, feeling a little self-conscious but also happy. As I drifted off to sleep, I knew that the Sports Festival had been a success, and I was grateful to have such amazing classmates by my side. Little did I know, the real challenges were only just beginning.
