**Chapter 10: A Conversation with Sophia**
Part 10
Sophia's piercing green gaze seemed to bore into Pam's soul, leaving her feeling exposed and vulnerable. Pam tried to maintain her composure, but she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as Sophia's words hung in the air. She took a deep breath and nodded, trying to appear confident. "Yes, I'm Luka's girlfriend," Pam replied, her voice steady. Sophia's smile grew wider as she took a step closer to Pam. "I thought as much," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You two look like the perfect couple, don't you?" Pam felt a pang of discomfort as Sophia's words seemed to imply that she knew more about Luka and Pam's relationship than she was letting on. She tried to brush it off, but Sophia's next words only added to her unease. "I've known Luka for a long time," Sophia said, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "We go way back, him and I. And I have to say, I'm a bit surprised he's with you." Pam's eyes narrowed as she tried to read between the lines. What did Sophia mean by "we go way back"? And what did she have to do with Luka? Pam's curiosity got the better of her, and she found herself asking, "What do you mean?" Sophia's laughter was low and husky, sending a shiver down Pam's spine. "Oh, Luka's a bit of a player, isn't he?" she said, her voice dripping with innuendo. "He's always had a thing for the finer things in life, and the women who come with them." Pam felt a surge of anger at Sophia's words, but she tried to keep her cool. She didn't want to give Sophia the satisfaction of getting a rise out of her. "I think I can handle Luka," she said, her voice firm. Sophia's eyes sparkled with amusement. "I'm sure you think you can," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "But let me tell you, Pam, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into. Luka's not as straightforward as he seems." As Sophia spoke, Pam couldn't help but wonder what secrets Sophia was hiding. What did she know about Luka's past? And what did she want from Pam? Pam's mind was racing with questions, but before she could ask any of them, Sophia's phone buzzed, and she glanced at the screen. "I'm afraid I have to go," Sophia said, her voice apologetic. "But don't worry, Pam. I'm sure we'll be talking again soon." With that, Sophia turned and disappeared into the crowd, leaving Pam feeling more confused and uncertain than ever. Who was Sophia, really? And what did she want from Luka and Pam's relationship? Pam's mind was racing with questions as she stepped back into the club, searching for Luka. She spotted him on the dance floor, lost in the music and the moment. But as she approached him, she couldn't shake off the feeling that Sophia's words had left her with - a sense of unease and foreboding.
