The Unexpected Encounter

Part 169

As we arrived at the test site, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves. The complex was larger than I had expected, with several buildings and open areas. I glanced around, taking in the surroundings, and that's when I saw him - a boy with spiky black hair and dark brown eyes that seemed to be staring right through me. He was standing off to the side, watching me with an intense gaze. Before I could process what was happening, he walked up to me and said, "Wow, even the TV couldn't capture your beauty." I raised an eyebrow, knowing he was just trying to flatter me. He was clearly one of those pretty boys who thought a simple compliment would get him a reaction. "Oh please, like you're more handsome than me," I said teasingly, trying to play it cool. To my surprise, he actually blushed slightly. "Why, thank you, Vesper," he responded, his voice low and smooth. Bakugo, who was standing nearby, felt a hint of jealousy towards the boy and gave him a glare. The boy, however, just gave him a smirk, seeming to enjoy the reaction. I couldn't help but chuckle at the exchange. "So, what's your Quirk?" I asked the boy, trying to change the subject. "I can cause earthquakes and such," he replied, his eyes sparkling with interest. I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "That's a powerful Quirk," I said. "Mine is shadow manipulation." The boy's eyes lit up with interest. "That's really cool," he said. "I've never seen anyone with a Quirk like that before." Before we could talk more, a voice came over the speaker, explaining the rules of the test. "In order to pass, you have to get at least 3 people out by hitting all their targets," the voice said. Just as the voice finished speaking, a bell rang out, signaling the start of the test. The boy, who I had yet to learn was named Shindo, gave me a nod before charging off in a different direction. I smiled to myself, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation. It was going to be an interesting test. As I watched Shindo disappear into the crowd, I noticed that he was surrounded by other students from different schools. There were kids with Quirks that I had never seen before, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity about them. I took a deep breath, preparing myself for the test ahead. It was time to put my skills to the test and see what I was capable of.
