**Chapter 1: "The Furry Fiasco"**

Part 1

Harry trudged into the living room, dropping his keys onto the coffee table with a clatter. "Dude, I'm starving! What's for lunch?" he called out to his roommate, Link, who was rummaging through the fridge. Link, a towering figure with shaggy fur covering his arms and legs, grunted in response. "Meat... sandwiches... Harry, me hungry!" Harry rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "You're always hungry, Link. Can't you just eat a salad for once?" He plopped down onto the couch, running a hand through his messy brown hair. The couch was covered in a layer of shedding fur, courtesy of Link's love of lounging on the furniture. Link shrugged, his shoulders rising and falling beneath his thick fur coat. "Me no like salad. Me like meat." He pulled out a massive sandwich and began to devour it, leaving a trail of hair on the coffee table and couch cushions. Harry sighed and stood up, brushing off the couch cushions. "Dude, you're going to have to work on not shedding so much. I swear, every time you sit on the couch, it looks like a yeti exploded." He tossed a handful of fur off his shoulder, earning a sheepish grin from Link. The hybrid yeti-human, Link, looked up at Harry with a mouthful of food. "Me sorry, Harry. Me no mean to make mess." His grammar was... lacking, to say the least. Harry had grown accustomed to Link's unique way of speaking, but it still sometimes caught him off guard. Harry waved a hand. "It's okay, Link. I just need to vacuum the couch again. You know, for the millionth time this week." He shook his head, chuckling. "I'm starting to think you shed more fur than a golden retriever." Link looked up, his eyes wide and innocent. "Me not mean to shed. Me just... excited." He took another massive bite of his sandwich, and Harry winced as a glob of mayonnaise landed on the carpet. Just then, the doorbell rang. Harry got up to answer it, expecting it to be the pizza delivery guy with their lunch. But when he opened the door, he was surprised to see a frantic-looking woman standing on the porch, her eyes wild and her hair disheveled. "Please, you have to help me!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling. "I'm being followed by... by... things! They're everywhere, and I don't know what they want!" Harry's eyes widened in surprise. "Uh, okay... ma'am? What kind of things?" The woman's gaze darted past him, into the living room, where Link was still eating his sandwich. Link waved at her, his fur fluffing up in a comical manner. "Me, Link! Nice to meet you!" he exclaimed, his voice booming through the room. The woman's eyes went wide. "What... what is that?" she stammered. Harry chuckled. "That's Link, my roommate. He's a... uh... human yeti hybrid." The woman took a step back, her eyes fixed on Link's shaggy form. "A human yeti hybrid? You mean, like... a mythical creature?" Harry shrugged. "Yeah, that's about right. Don't worry, he's harmless... mostly." As Link stood up, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, the woman let out a little shriek. Harry laughed. "Link, say hello." Link beamed. "Me, Link! Nice to meet you, lady! Want to be friends?" He took a step forward, his massive frame looming over the woman, and Harry winced. The woman took another step back, her eyes fixed on Link's furry form. "I... I don't think that's a good idea. I need to go. Now." She turned to flee, but Harry caught her arm. "Wait, don't go! What's going on? What's following you?" he asked, his curiosity piqued. The woman hesitated, glancing over her shoulder. "I... I don't know. I just know I need to get out of here. They're coming for me, I can feel it!" As she spoke, a loud crash echoed from outside, followed by the sound of scratching and growling. Harry's eyes met Link's, and they both groaned. "Great," Harry muttered. "Just what we needed. More excitement." Link stood up, his fur fluffing up in agitation. "Me no like excitement. Me like quiet, peaceful day... with sandwich." He pouted, his eyes fixed on the woman. The woman's eyes went wide. "What's that noise? What are they?" Harry stood up, his heart racing. "I don't know, but I think we're about to find out. Link, can you... um... calm down the fur a bit? I don't want our guest to freak out." Link nodded, trying to smooth down his shaggy coat, but it only seemed to make him look more menacing. The woman took another step back, her eyes fixed on the hybrid yeti. "Don't worry, I'll protect you," Harry said, trying to sound brave. "We're not exactly... normal... around here, but we'll do our best to keep you safe." As he spoke, the scratching at the door grew louder, and the sound of growling grew more intense. Harry's eyes met Link's, and they both shrugged. "Well, this should be interesting," Harry said, cracking his knuckles. Link grinned, his teeth sharp and pointed. "Me ready for whatever. Bring it on, Harry!" The woman's eyes went wide, and she took another step back. "I think I'm going to go now..." But it was too late. The door burst open, and a pack of... creatures?... tumbled into the room, their eyes fixed on the woman. She let out a little shriek and clung to Harry's arm. "Well, this is just great," Harry muttered, staring at the chaos unfolding before him. And that's when things really started to get hairy...
