**Chapter 11: A Web of Complicated Emotions**
Part 11
The air was thick with tension as Erwin and Levi continued to stare each other down, their faces inches apart. I felt like I was caught in the middle of a silent war, unsure of how to react or who to support. The sound of passing pedestrians and chatter from nearby cafes seemed to fade into the background as the two men locked eyes, their emotions raw and exposed. Suddenly, Erwin's face contorted in a mixture of anger and frustration, and he spun on his heel, storming off without another word. The abrupt departure left Levi and me standing alone, the silence between us heavy with unspoken questions. Levi turned to me, his eyes searching for answers. "I had no idea," he said, his voice low and thoughtful. "Erwin's been acting strange lately, but I had no idea he felt that way." I shook my head, still trying to process the sudden revelation. "Me neither," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. "I had no idea he felt that way about me." Levi's eyes softened, and he reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. "Don't worry, Kenzy," he said, his voice filled with reassurance. "You're not caught in the middle of this. You're the one they both care about, and that's what matters." I smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Levi. "Thanks," I said, my voice sincere. As we stood there, the tension between us dissipated, replaced by a sense of understanding and connection. Levi's hand lingered on my cheek, and I felt a flutter in my chest. I knew that I still had feelings for him, and the way he looked at me told me that he felt the same way. But just as things were starting to feel clearer, a memory surfaced in my mind. Erwin's eyes, burning with intensity, and the way he said my name - "Kenzy". It was a small thing, but it sparked a sense of curiosity in me. What was Erwin's story? Why did he feel so strongly about me? "Levi," I said, my voice hesitant. "Can I ask you something?" "Anything," he replied, his eyes locked on mine. "What's going on with Erwin?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "Why does he feel so strongly about me?" Levi's expression turned serious, and he hesitated before speaking. "Erwin's been through a lot, Kenzy," he said, his voice measured. "He's seen and experienced things that most people can't even imagine. And in his own way, he's trying to protect you." I frowned, unsure of what to make of Levi's words. Protect me? From what? And why did he feel the need to do so? As I pondered these questions, a figure emerged from the crowd, her eyes fixed intently on us. Hange Zoë, the eccentric and brilliant inventor, her face alight with excitement. "Kenzy! Levi!" she exclaimed, her voice ringing out across the street. "I've been looking all over for you. I have some news that will change everything." Levi's eyes narrowed, and he exchanged a look with me. "What kind of news?" he asked, his voice cautious. Hange's eyes sparkled with mischief. "I've made a breakthrough," she said, her voice barely containing her excitement. "A breakthrough that could change the course of the war." I felt a surge of curiosity, and Levi's eyes locked on mine, a sense of anticipation building between us. What had Hange discovered? And how would it affect us all?
