The Mysterious Dress
Part 1
Varrick burst into the room, a sly grin spreading across his face as he held up his datapad. Asami and Zhu Li looked up from their work, curiosity piqued. "What's got you so excited, Varrick?" Asami asked, setting down her tools. Varrick chuckled, holding up the image on his datapad. It was a picture of a simple dress, but it was unlike any dress Asami had ever seen. The left side of the dress was black and blue, while the right side was white and gold. "Check this out," Varrick said, a gleam in his eye. "This dress has the entire internet going crazy." Zhu Li's eyes widened as she took in the image. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice laced with intrigue. Varrick leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together. "Apparently, half the people who look at this dress see it as black and blue, while the other half see it as white and gold. It's causing quite the stir online." Asami's eyes narrowed as she studied the image. She saw black and blue, but she couldn't help but wonder if there was more to it than that. "That's... strange," she said, handing the datapad back to Varrick. Just then, Mako walked into the room, overhearing the conversation. "What's going on?" he asked, his eyes scanning the room. Varrick held up his datapad again. "This dress is causing a stir. Some people see it as black and blue, while others see it as white and gold." Mako's eyes widened as he took in the image. "Whoa, that's trippy," he said, shaking his head. "I see black and blue." As the conversation continued, more and more people began to gather in the room, all of them eager to see the mysterious dress for themselves. Tenzin, Suyin, and even Kuvira stopped by, each of them offering their own opinion on the dress. But not everyone was interested. Opal, Bolin, and Kai were noticeably absent, and when Asami sent a message to Opal's comms device, she got an automatic response saying that Opal was busy with a project and couldn't be disturbed. As the debate raged on, Varrick had an idea. "We need to get to the bottom of this," he said, a mischievous glint in his eye. "I'm going to send a team to investigate. Maybe we can figure out why people see this dress differently." Asami raised an eyebrow. "And who did you have in mind for this team?" Varrick grinned. "I was thinking of sending in some of our most... perceptive team members. You know, the ones with a keen eye for detail." Asami smiled, knowing exactly who Varrick was talking about. "You mean, like, Bolin?" Varrick nodded. "Exactly. And maybe Kai, too. They're always good at picking up on subtle details." But just as Varrick was about to send for Bolin and Kai, Asami hesitated. "Wait, where's Bolin?" she asked, looking around the room. Varrick shrugged. "I haven't seen him since lunch. But I'm sure he'll turn up soon." Asami frowned, a feeling of unease settling in the pit of her stomach. She had a feeling that this was going to be more complicated than they thought...
