"Shadows of Despair"
Part 4
The hours ticked by at a glacial pace, each one a reminder that Mori's fate was slowly unraveling. She had tried to distract herself by thinking of her past, of the people she loved and the life she once knew. But the memories, though comforting, were bittersweet, and the reality of her situation soon came crashing back. As she lay there, Mori's ears picked up the sound of footsteps outside her room. Heavy, deliberate footsteps that seemed to be heading in her direction. Her heart sank, and she felt a cold dread creeping up her spine. The door creaked open, and Cassius stood in the entrance, his piercing blue eyes fixed on Mori. He was smiling, a cold, calculating smile that sent shivers down her spine. "Good girl," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "I see you're still awake. I was hoping you would be." Mori tried to move, to scramble away from him, but her body felt heavy, as if rooted to the bed. Cassius took a step closer, his eyes never leaving hers. "You're not going to try to escape, are you?" he said, his voice laced with amusement. "I don't think you are. You see, I've been thinking, and I've decided to give you a little... motivation." He took another step closer, his hand reaching out to caress her face. Mori flinched, trying to pull away, but Cassius's grip was like a vice. "You're going to fight back, Mori," he whispered, his breath hot against her skin. "You're going to think you have a chance. And I'll let you think that. I'll let you believe you can escape, that you can defeat me." Mori's mind reeled in horror as Cassius's hands began to roam over her body, his touch like a cold, dead weight. She knew what was coming, and she steeled herself for the worst. But as Cassius's assault began, Mori felt a spark of defiance ignite within her. She fought back, her body thrashing against his, her fists pounding against his chest. Cassius laughed, a cold, cruel sound that seemed to echo through the room. "Yes, yes, fight back," he whispered, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Make me work for it. Make me want it more." Mori's fight was not going to be easy, but she knew she had to try. She had to hold on to her dignity, to her sense of self. But as Cassius's grip tightened around her, she knew she was in for the fight of her life.
