**Chapter 2: A Change of Plans**

Part 2

Panic set in as Dorothy realized they wouldn't make it to the hospital on time. Lucas's eyes locked onto hers, his expression a mix of worry and determination. "I'll call Rose, Blanche, and Sophia," he said, quickly dialing the phone. "They can help us." As he waited for someone to pick up, Dorothy felt another contraction wash over her. This one was even stronger than the last. She cried out, her body tensing up. Lucas pulled her close, holding her tightly. Rose's voice answered on the first ring. "Hello?" "Rose, it's Lucas. We need help. Dorothy's having the baby, and we're stuck in traffic. We won't make it to the hospital on time," he said, his voice tight with worry. Rose's tone changed from calm to urgent in an instant. "Okay, okay. We'll be right there. Don't worry, Lucas. We'll take care of Dorothy." Lucas hung up the phone and quickly dialed Blanche's number. "Blanche, it's Lucas. We need your help. Dorothy's having the baby, and we can't get to the hospital." Blanche's voice was just as reassuring as Rose's. "Don't worry, Lucas. We'll be right there. Just get her comfortable, and we'll take care of the rest." Dorothy's eyes were fixed on Lucas, her face pale with fear. "What are we going to do?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Lucas took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. "We're going to get you through this, Dorothy. Our friends will help us. We'll figure it out together." As he spoke, Sophia's voice came on the line. "Lucas, what's going on?" " Sophia, we need your help. Dorothy's having the baby, and we're stuck in traffic," Lucas replied. Sophia's voice was calm and soothing. "Don't worry, Lucas. I'll be right there. Just get her comfortable, and we'll take care of the rest." Lucas hung up the phone and looked at Dorothy. "Our friends are on their way. They're going to help us." Dorothy nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. "I don't know if I can do this, Lucas. I don't know if I can give birth on our friend's living room floor." Lucas pulled her close, holding her tightly. "You can do this, Dorothy. We'll get through this together. Our friends will help us." As they waited for Rose, Blanche, and Sophia to arrive, Dorothy's contractions continued to intensify. She was getting more and more uncomfortable, and Lucas could see the fear in her eyes. He knew they had to act fast. They couldn't just sit there, stuck in traffic, while Dorothy gave birth in the backseat. Lucas made a quick decision. "I'm going to pull over. We'll get you comfortable, and our friends will help us when they arrive." With a bit of maneuvering, Lucas managed to pull over to the side of the road. Dorothy let out a sigh of relief as the car came to a stop. But Lucas knew they weren't out of the woods yet. They still had to get her to their friend's house, and fast. As he helped Dorothy out of the car, she leaned heavily on him. "I don't know if I can walk," she said, her voice weak. Lucas scooped her up in his arms, cradling her close. "Don't worry, I've got you," he said, his voice reassuring. He quickly made his way to their friend's house, Dorothy clinging to him. As they approached the door, Lucas could hear the sound of footsteps inside. Rose, Blanche, and Sophia were already there, waiting to help. With a deep breath, Lucas pushed open the door and stepped inside. "We're here," he said, his voice relieved. The living room was quickly transformed into a makeshift delivery room. Rose and Blanche rushed to Dorothy's side, while Sophia hovered nearby, a look of calm determination on her face. Lucas positioned himself behind Dorothy, his arms wrapped around her waist. "Lean back against me," he said, his voice gentle. Dorothy nodded, her body relaxing against his. Blanche quickly grabbed a towel and gently placed it over Dorothy's legs. As Blanche removed Dorothy's panties, Dorothy cried out, "It hurts, I can't do this anymore." Her body tensed up, and she buried her face in Lucas's shoulder. But she knew she wasn't alone. Rose, Blanche, and Sophia were all there, supporting her through this ordeal. And with their help, she might just make it through this after all.
