Chapter 7: A Royal Invitation
Part 7
As they finished chatting with Toad in the garden, he smiled and said, "Now that you're all settled in, I think it's time for you to head to Peach's Castle. Her Highness has a special agenda for you today, and I'd be happy to escort you there." Mario and Luigi exchanged a curious glance, and Mario nodded enthusiastically. "Sounds like a plan! Let's go!" Toad led the way, guiding the brothers through the winding streets of the Mushroom Kingdom. They walked past Toad houses, colorful market stalls, and bustling streets filled with all manner of creatures. As they approached the castle, the brothers couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. After a short while, they arrived at the grand entrance of Peach's Castle. Toad bowed low and said, "Here we are, Mario Brothers. Her Highness awaits you inside." Mario and Luigi nodded their thanks and followed Toad into the castle. They were greeted by the familiar sight of Peach's throne room, with its grand chandeliers, ornate tapestries, and sparkling crystal decorations. Peach herself sat on her throne, a warm smile on her face. "Ah, Mario Brothers! I'm so glad you're here. I trust you slept well and had a pleasant morning so far?" Mario and Luigi nodded in unison, and Luigi spoke up, "We had a wonderful breakfast, courtesy of your note and Toad's pastries. The garden here is lovely, too." Peach's smile grew wider. "I'm glad to hear that. I have a special day planned for you, and I think you'll find it quite exciting. You see, I've received reports of a mysterious issue affecting the Mushroom Kingdom's pipes. It seems that Goombas have been causing trouble, clogging up the pipes and disrupting the water supply." Mario's eyes lit up. "That sounds like a job for us!" Peach nodded. "Exactly! I was thinking of sending you on a mission to investigate the pipes, fix any damage, and put a stop to the Goombas' mischief. Are you up for the challenge?" Luigi nodded eagerly, and Mario grinned. "We're always up for a challenge, Your Highness! Let's get to work!"
