Chapter 3: Stepping into the Fray

Part 3

The bright lights of the styling room hit Hana like a slap in the face, making her squint after the dimness of the dressing room. She blinked rapidly, taking in the chaotic scene before her. Stylists and makeup artists scurried about, prepping for the day's shoot. Models lounged on couches, chatting idly or scrolling through their phones. The air was thick with the smell of hairspray and makeup. Hana's eyes landed on a familiar figure standing by the window, sipping a cup of coffee. It was Min-ji, the senior stylist who had given her a glowing recommendation for the job. Min-ji caught her eye and smiled, beckoning her over. As Hana made her way through the crowded room, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned to see Woo Young standing behind her, his eyes glinting with amusement. "So, Hana, I see you're eager to get started," he said, his voice low and husky. "But before you begin, I need to brief you on the day's schedule." Hana nodded, her eyes never leaving his face. Min-ji, sensing her hesitation, intervened. "Woo Young, I can take care of that. Hana, why don't you come with me and I'll fill you in on the details?" Woo Young's eyes narrowed, but he nodded curtly. "Very well. Min-ji, make sure Hana is aware of the tight deadline we're working with. I expect everything to be perfect, and I expect it now." Min-ji nodded and led Hana away, leaving Woo Young to his coffee. As they walked, Min-ji filled her in on the day's schedule. They were shooting a music video for a new single by one of K-pop's hottest groups, and the theme was futuristic sci-fi. Hana's eyes widened as Min-ji showed her the concept boards and sketches. "This is amazing," Hana breathed. "The stylist did an incredible job." Min-ji smiled. "That's what I was thinking. But Woo Young is being... Woo Young. He wants to make sure we're all on our toes." Hana raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" Min-ji leaned in, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Let's just say Woo Young has a reputation for being ruthless when it comes to his work. But he's also a genius. If you can impress him, you'll be set for life." Hana's heart skipped a beat. She was determined to prove herself, but a part of her wondered if she was ready for the challenge that lay ahead. As she followed Min-ji to the makeup station, she caught Woo Young's eye across the room. He was watching her, his gaze piercing and intense. Hana felt a shiver run down her spine. She knew she had his attention, but she wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. One thing was certain, though: she was in for a wild ride.
