A New Beginning

Part 12

A few weeks had passed since Ashley's emotional meltdown, and she had slowly started to find her footing again. The memories of their loss still lingered, but she had begun to heal, or at least, that's what she thought. Alev had been her rock, supporting her through the darkest of times, and she was grateful for his love and care. As she rolled out of bed, Ashley felt a wave of nausea wash over her. She stumbled to the bathroom, her hand on her stomach as she tried to process what was happening. It wasn't the first time she'd felt queasy in the past few weeks, but she had brushed it off as stress or a stomach bug. But today, it felt different. Alev was already up and making breakfast in the kitchen. He noticed Ashley's absence and came to find her, concern etched on his face. "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice soft with worry. Ashley tried to speak, but her voice caught in her throat. She gestured to the toilet, and Alev quickly followed, holding her hair back as she lost her breakfast. As the nausea subsided, Ashley sat back, her eyes meeting Alev's. They were filled with a mix of fear and uncertainty. Could it be? she thought, her mind racing with the possibility. Alev helped her back to bed, fetching her a glass of water and a cold compress for her forehead. As he sat beside her, holding her hand, Ashley couldn't shake off the feeling that something was changing inside her. She had been more emotional than usual lately, crying at the slightest provocation. Her senses seemed heightened, and she could smell even the faintest scents. Her breasts were sore, and she felt tired all the time. It was as if her body was trying to tell her something, but she wasn't sure what. As the day went on, Ashley's sensitivity increased. She felt overwhelmed by the smallest things – the sound of the TV, the brightness of the sunlight, the smell of Alev's cologne. It was as if her senses were on high alert, and she couldn't escape the barrage of stimuli. Alev noticed the change in her too, his eyes filled with a mix of concern and hope. He knew that Ashley had been thinking about having a baby, and he couldn't help but wonder if this was it – if this was the start of something new. As the evening drew to a close, Ashley turned to Alev, her eyes searching for answers. "I think I might be pregnant," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Alev's face lit up with a radiant smile, and he pulled her into his arms. "Let's take a test," he said, his voice filled with excitement. Ashley's heart skipped a beat as she nodded, her mind racing with the possibilities. Was this a new beginning? Was this the start of a new chapter in their lives? Only time would tell.
