"Cornered"

Part 248

He leaned in closer, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light, and said, "Your pretty when your scared." I felt a chill run down my spine as his words hung in the air, and without hesitation, I sprang into action. I quickly got up from the swing and took off running, my feet pounding the pavement as I desperately tried to put as much distance between us as possible. I darted through the park, weaving in and out of people and trees, but I could hear Dabi's footsteps behind me, getting closer and closer. My heart was racing, and my breath was coming in short gasps. I spotted an alleyway to my left and made a split-second decision to dash into it, hoping to lose him in the narrow passageway. I ran as fast as I could, my feet echoing off the walls as I turned into the alley. I didn't dare look back, fearing what I might see. I kept my eyes fixed on the end of the alley, my heart pounding in my chest. Finally, I allowed myself to relax, thinking I had managed to escape. But my relief was short-lived. As I let my guard down, I felt a hand cover my mouth, and I was spun around. Dabi was right behind me, his eyes glinting with amusement. He pulled me back against him, his arm wrapping around my waist like a vice. I tried to struggle, but he held me firm. I kicked my legs and tried to scream, but my voice was muffled by his hand. I was trapped, and I knew it. Dabi's breath was hot against my ear as he whispered, "Why did you run? You know it's kind of fun when your prey runs away, hoping to get away." His voice was low and menacing, and I could feel his laughter vibrating through his chest. My fear turned to panic as I realized I was completely at his mercy. I thrashed about, trying to break free, but Dabi just held me tighter, his grip unyielding. I was trapped, and I had no idea what he was going to do next. All I knew was that I had to get away, no matter what it took.
