The Royal Revelation

Part 16

Peach's expression turned grave as she led Mario and Luigi to a secluded bench, surrounded by tall hedges that blocked out the rest of the garden. "As you know, Bowser's been quiet for a while now," she began, her voice low and serious. "But I've received reports that he's been secretly gathering his Koopa Troopas and building a massive army in the dark lands." Luigi's eyes widened in concern. "That doesn't sound good. What's his plan, Your Highness?" Peach's eyes locked onto Mario's, her gaze intense. "I believe he's planning to invade the kingdom. He's been searching for a way to break through our defenses, and I fear that he's close to finding it." Mario's grip on his hat tightened. "We can't let that happen. What can we do to stop him?" Peach nodded, a determined look on her face. "I've called upon the best minds in the kingdom to help us prepare for the impending attack. But there's something else, something that requires your unique skills, Mario." Mario's curiosity was piqued. "What is it, Your Highness?" Peach hesitated, as if choosing her words carefully. "I've received reports of a traitor within the castle walls. Someone who's been feeding information to Bowser, helping him prepare for the invasion." Luigi's eyes narrowed. "A traitor? That's shocking. Do you have any idea who it might be?" Peach shook her head. "Not yet, but I need your help to find out. I want you to investigate, gather clues, and uncover the identity of the traitor." Mario's jaw set in determination. "We're on it, Your Highness. We'll do everything we can to help." Peach smiled, a hint of relief in her eyes. "I knew I could count on you, Mario. Time is of the essence. The invasion is expected to happen soon, and we need to act fast." As Peach finished speaking, a loud noise echoed through the garden, followed by the sound of rushing footsteps. A Toad burst into the clearing, looking frantic. "Your Highness! It's-a happened! The castle's-a been breached!" Peach's face went pale. "It seems our investigation has just become a lot more urgent."
