Six months had passed since Ashley's diagnosis, and she and Ryan had been working tirelessly with their doctor to develop a treatment plan to manage Ashley's PCOS. They had tried various medications and lifestyle changes, but unfortunately, they had not yet been successful in getting pregnant. With their doctor's recommendation, they had decided to move forward with IVF. With the transfer complete, Ashley and Ryan decided to take a drive to Erica's, their close friend's house, to share the news and spend some much-needed time together. They had been so focused on the IVF process that they had neglected their social life, and Erica had been patiently waiting for them to catch up. As they pulled up to Erica's house, Ashley felt a sense of excitement. She couldn't wait to share their news with her friend. Erica greeted them at the door, a warm smile on her face. "Hey, guys! I've missed you so much," Erica exclaimed, as she enveloped them in a tight hug. Ashley and Ryan exchanged a look, and then Ashley blurted out the news. "We just finished our first round of IVF! We're on our way to possibly becoming parents!" Erica's eyes widened in excitement. "Oh my gosh, that's amazing! I'm so happy for you both." As they sat down in Erica's living room, Ashley and Ryan shared every detail of their IVF journey, from the diagnosis to the procedure. Erica listened intently, offering words of encouragement and support. Over coffee and cake, they chatted and laughed, feeling a sense of normalcy that they hadn't experienced in months. It was good to be with friends, to feel like themselves again. As the afternoon drew to a close, Ashley and Ryan said their goodbyes, promising to stay in touch and keep Erica updated on their journey. As they drove away, Ashley felt grateful for her friend's support and companionship. "I'm so glad we went to see Erica," Ashley said, smiling at Ryan.
