**Chapter 6: Darkness Descends**

Part 5

Midori's car screeched to a halt in the deserted parking lot, the only sound being the crunch of gravel beneath her tires. She had pushed her car to its limits, speeding down the winding roads in pursuit of Haruka. Her heart still racing, she spotted Haruka's car parked in the corner of the lot, its engine cold and dark. Taking a deep breath, Midori got out of her car and approached Haruka's vehicle. Haruka was already out, her back against the car, arms crossed over her chest. Her eyes blazed with anger, and Midori could see the tension coiled in her body. "Haruka, please," Midori said, trying to reason with her. "Let's talk about this." Haruka's gaze was cold, her voice firm. "Get in the back seat." Midori's heart sank. She knew what that meant. She felt a surge of fear, her mind racing with the implications. But she also knew that she couldn't let Haruka get away, not now, not when things had escalated so far. With a sense of foreboding, Midori got into the back seat of Haruka's car. Haruka followed, her movements economical and controlled. The air was thick with tension as Haruka turned to face her. The darkness of the parking lot seemed to close in around them, the only sound the distant hum of crickets. Midori's fear spiked, and she tried to scramble away, but Haruka was too quick. She pinned Midori down, her body weight crushing her. Midori's mind went blank as Haruka's actions became more aggressive, more violent. She felt a searing pain, and her body seemed to shut down, unable to process what was happening. The world went dark, and she was trapped in a nightmare from which she couldn't awaken. When it was over, Haruka got out of the car, her movements calm and collected. Midori lay there, her body aching, her mind reeling. She felt a wave of despair wash over her, and she knew that nothing would ever be the same again. As Haruka drove away, leaving Midori alone in the darkness of the parking lot, Midori's thoughts turned to Mai, and Ruka, and Yuu. She knew she had to get back to them, to tell them what had happened. But for now, she just lay there, her body broken, her spirit shattered.
