A Shift in Alliances

Part 78

As Shigaraki lounged on the couch in his dimly lit lair, he watched the TV screen with great interest, his eyes fixed on the live broadcast of the match between Bakugo and me. His expression changed from boredom to surprise as he saw Bakugo carry me to the infirmary, my battered body limp in his arms. Kurogiri, seated beside him, noticed the sudden change in his leader's demeanor and raised an eyebrow. "Something catch your attention, Tomura?" he asked, using Shigaraki's given name. Shigaraki's smirk grew as he continued to watch the replay of the moment. "He might be another good asset," he said, his voice low and thoughtful. "That Bakugo, he's got a certain... soft spot, it seems." Kurogiri's eyes narrowed as he studied Shigaraki's expression. "You think he could be turned?" he asked, his voice measured. Shigaraki chuckled, a cold, mirthless sound. "I think he's already been turned, in his own way. That look in his eyes, the way he carried her to the infirmary... it's almost like he cares." Kurogiri's gaze lingered on Shigaraki, searching for any hidden meaning behind his words. "And what do you plan to do with this information, Tomura?" he asked, his tone neutral. Shigaraki's smirk grew wider as he leaned back into the couch, his eyes never leaving the TV screen. "Oh, I think I'll just keep an eye on him, for now. See how he reacts in the future. Who knows? Maybe he'll prove to be a useful pawn in our game." As Shigaraki continued to watch the broadcast, his mind was already racing with possibilities, weighing the pros and cons of recruiting Bakugo to their cause. Kurogiri, sensing his leader's excitement, couldn't help but wonder what kind of plan was brewing in Shigaraki's twisted mind. Meanwhile, in the infirmary, I was still being treated for my injuries, my mind reeling with questions about Bakugo's sudden change of heart. Little did I know, my actions had just caught the attention of a much more sinister force, one that would stop at nothing to exploit my connections for their own gain.
