"A Friend's Concern"
Part 3
As Shizuo continued to eat, Izaya couldn't help but stare at him. He actually was pretty for a monster, Izaya thought, his eyes scanning Shizuo's features. Shizuo's rugged good looks and striking features made him a sight to behold, even with his rough demeanor. Izaya's gaze lingered on Shizuo's sharp jawline and piercing eyes, and he felt a pang of fascination. Shizuo, oblivious to Izaya's admiring gaze, continued to eat, savoring the flavors of the gourmet meal. Izaya's thoughts were interrupted when Shizuo spoke up, "Izaya, this food is really good. You're right, your chef is amazing." Izaya smiled, tearing his gaze away from Shizuo's face. "I'm glad you like it, Shizu-chan. I told you, he's one of the best in the business." He paused, his expression turning serious. "Shizu-chan, you don't have to worry about working a job or helping with rent. I'm okay. I can pay for everything." Shizuo's eyes widened in surprise, and he set his chopsticks down. "Izaya, I don't know...I feel like I'm imposing on you. I want to contribute somehow." Izaya waved his hand dismissively. "No, no, Shizu-chan. I insist. You're a friend, and friends take care of each other. Besides, I have more than enough to spare. You don't have to worry about a thing." Shizuo looked uncertain, and Izaya could see the hesitation in his eyes. "But Izaya, what about tomorrow? You said we were going shopping...I don't want to be a burden." Izaya's face lit up with a warm smile. "Don't worry, Shizu-chan. When we go shopping tomorrow, if you want, don't worry about a thing. I'll buy your clothes or any food you want. You can consider it a thank you for being a friend." Shizuo's eyes narrowed, his expression skeptical. "Izaya, why are you being so nice to me? You're not getting anything in return." Izaya's smile faltered for a moment, and he looked away, his eyes drifting to the floor. "Maybe I just like having you around, Shizu-chan. You're...different. And I enjoy your company." The air was filled with an awkward silence, and Shizuo looked at Izaya, his expression softening. "Thanks, Izaya. That means a lot coming from you." Izaya's eyes snapped back to Shizuo's face, and he smiled, feeling a warmth in his chest. "Anytime, Shizu-chan. Now, finish your food and relax. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow." As they finished their meal, Izaya couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. He was glad to have Shizuo in his life, and he was determined to make sure his friend was happy and taken care of. Little did he know, his actions would lead to a chain of events that would change their lives forever.
