## Chapter 1: The Argument

Part 1

The sun had just set, casting a warm orange glow over the school campus. Enzo and Kai, the popular couple, were walking down the hallway, holding hands. They were the envy of many students, with Kai's chiseled features and charming smile, and Enzo's average looks but kind heart. But little did anyone know, their relationship was far from perfect. As they walked, Enzo couldn't help but feel suffocated by Kai's constant possessiveness. He had been seen with another guy in the library earlier that day, and Kai had been furious. The argument had started as soon as they got to Enzo's dorm room, with Kai's voice rising and Enzo's eyes welling up with tears. "You're mine, Enzo," Kai had said, his voice low and menacing. "I don't want you looking at anyone else, let alone talking to them." Enzo had tried to explain that it was just a friendly conversation, but Kai wouldn't listen. The argument had escalated, with Kai's words cutting deep into Enzo's heart. Enzo's roommate, Kylie, was out for the night, and Enzo was grateful for the solitude, but also scared. As the argument reached its boiling point, Kai's hand had come out of nowhere, slapping Enzo across the face. Enzo had felt a stinging pain, and his eyes had welled up with tears. Kai had stormed out of the room, leaving Enzo shaken and alone. Enzo took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He couldn't believe Kai had hit him. It was the first time, but Enzo knew it wouldn't be the last. He was trapped in a toxic relationship, and he didn't know how to escape. As he sat on the bed, nursing his wounded cheek, Enzo couldn't help but wonder if this was what love was supposed to feel like. He thought about all the times Kai had belittled him, made him feel small, and controlled him. He thought about the times Kai had forced him to do things he didn't want to do. Enzo's mind was racing, and he knew he had to get out of there. He stood up, determined to find some fresh air and clear his head. As he walked out of the dorm, he felt a sense of uncertainty, but also a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, he could find a way out of this toxic relationship.
