"Damage Control"
Part 166
I tried to brush off the awkwardness and quicken my pace, hoping to get away from the prying eyes of my classmates. Amajiki, Mirio, and Nejire followed closely behind me, their concerned expressions a reminder that this wasn't going away anytime soon. As we walked, Mirio suddenly spoke up. "Vesper, can I ask you something?" he said, his voice gentle. I hesitated, unsure of what to expect. "What is it?" I replied warily. Mirio smiled kindly. "I was wondering if I could get your number. I want to make sure you're okay after all this." I was taken aback. I hadn't expected Mirio to ask for my number, especially not now, when I was trying to deal with the fallout of my conversation with Mina. But at the same time, I couldn't deny that it was nice to have someone checking in on me. "Uh, sure," I said finally, pulling out my phone and handing it over to Mirio. He quickly typed in his number and handed it back to me. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to call," he said, his eyes warm with concern. I smiled, feeling a small sense of gratitude towards Mirio. "Thanks," I said, tucking my phone back into my pocket. The rest of the walk back to the dorms was spent in silence, with Amajiki and Nejire occasionally exchanging worried glances. I could tell they were trying to process what had just happened, and I couldn't blame them. As we approached the dorms, I suddenly remembered that I had a provisional license test to prepare for tomorrow. I had almost forgotten, and now I had to focus on studying. I spent the rest of the evening poring over my notes and textbooks, trying to cram as much information as possible into my head. But as I studied, my mind kept wandering back to my hero suit. I had been thinking about it for weeks now, and I had finally decided on a design. I was going to make it myself, using my Quirk to create the materials and shape them into the perfect suit. As I sat there, I started to brainstorm new moves I could use in my hero suit. I realized that I could create weapons, like swords or shields, using my Quirk. I could also create armor, or even fly using my powers. The possibilities were endless, and I felt a surge of excitement as I thought about all the things I could do. Finally, after hours of studying and brainstorming, I decided on a final design for my hero suit. It was going to be sleek and black, with a silver emblem on the chest. I was going to call it "Nightshade," and I couldn't wait to see it come to life. I was going to get the materials tomorrow, and I was planning to spend the entire day working on my suit. I was super excited, and I couldn't wait to show it off to my friends. As I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. Tomorrow was going to be a big day, and I was ready to take on whatever came next.
