**Chapter 1: Shattered Dreams**

Part 1

You sat on the couch, staring blankly at the doll in your arms. Your eyes were red from crying, and your face was streaked with tears. Hange sat beside you, his arm wrapped around your shoulders, trying to comfort you. But you were beyond consolation. The doll, a soft, cuddly toy with a sweet expression, seemed to mock you. You rocked it back and forth, humming a gentle tune, your voice shaking with sobs. Hange's eyes were filled with concern as he watched you. "My love..." he said softly, his voice laced with worry. "Don't do that anymore... that's a doll, it's not our baby. Our baby died..." His words were like a knife to your heart, twisting the pain and grief that had been festering inside you. You whimpered, your body shaking with convulsive sobs. You couldn't bear the thought of losing your baby. The pain was too much to bear. You felt like you were drowning in a sea of despair, unable to find a lifeline to cling to. As Hange spoke, you looked up at him with vacant, tear-stained eyes. You didn't seem to understand what he was saying. Your mind was foggy, and all you could think about was the baby. You wanted your baby. Hange's grip on you tightened. "I know, my love, I know. I'm so sorry. But we can't change what happened. The baby is gone, and we need to face that." You shook your head, your lips trembling. "No... no... I want my baby," you whispered, your voice barely audible. Hange's face contorted in anguish. He had never seen you like this before. Your regression was severe, and he didn't know how to reach you. You were like a newborn baby, completely dependent on him for comfort and reassurance. As the minutes ticked by, your sobs showed no signs of abating. You were overwhelmed by your emotions, unable to process the loss of your baby. Hange held you close, trying to shield you from the pain, but it was no use. You were lost in a world of grief, and he couldn't follow. "I want a baby," you wailed, your voice rising to a crescendo. "Adopting a baby won't feel the same... I want my baby..." Hange's eyes welled up with tears as he listened to your words. He felt like he was losing you, like you were slipping away from him. He didn't know how to bring you back, how to make you whole again. As the darkness closed in around you, Hange held you tighter, his heart aching with love and sorrow. He knew he had to find a way to help you heal, to bring you back to him. But for now, all he could do was hold you and weep.
