Chapter 4: A Glimpse of Kaito's Hidden Side
Part 4
As the days went by, Murie found herself growing more and more comfortable around Kaito. They had developed a routine of meeting up for coffee or studying together in the library. Murie enjoyed his company, and she appreciated the way he made her feel like she was the only person in the world. One day, as they were walking across campus, they stumbled upon a group of students practicing martial arts. Kaito watched them with interest, and Murie noticed that he seemed to be analyzing their movements. "You seem to know a thing or two about martial arts," Murie said, observing the way Kaito's eyes scanned the students' techniques. Kaito shrugged. "I used to take classes when I was younger. Just a hobby, you know?" Murie raised an eyebrow. "You were pretty good at it, though. I mean, I've never seen anyone execute a perfect roundhouse kick like that." Kaito chuckled. "Like I said, just a kid with a lot of energy. I used to get into all sorts of scraps when I was younger." Murie sensed that Kaito was being evasive, but she didn't press the issue. She didn't want to pry into his personal life, not yet. Instead, she asked him about his favorite martial arts styles, and they spent the next hour discussing the different techniques and philosophies. As they continued to talk, Murie noticed that Kaito seemed to be skilled in other areas as well. He was incredibly agile, and he had a keen sense of awareness that allowed him to detect potential dangers before they arose. "Hey, Kaito?" Murie said, as they were walking back to her dormitory. "Yeah?" Kaito replied, looking down at her. "Can I ask you something?" Murie asked, her curiosity getting the better of her. "Sure, what's up?" Kaito said, his eyes locked on hers. Murie hesitated for a moment before speaking. "I was just wondering... how did you learn all these skills? You seem to be really good at martial arts, and you're always so aware of your surroundings. It's like you're... trained or something." Kaito's expression turned guarded, and he hesitated before responding. "Like I said, I just used to take classes and stuff. And I've always been a bit of a wild child, I guess." Murie sensed that Kaito was hiding something from her, but she didn't know what. She decided to drop the subject for now and focus on getting to know him better. As they stood outside her dormitory, Kaito leaned in and kissed her cheek. "Goodnight, Murie," he whispered. Murie watched as he walked away, feeling a sense of excitement and uncertainty. She had a feeling that she was falling for him, hard. But she couldn't shake the feeling that Kaito was hiding something from her, that there was more to him than met the eye. Little did she know that Kaito's secrets would soon change everything. For now, she was content to enjoy his company and see where their relationship would go. But as she turned to go inside her dormitory, she couldn't help but wonder what lay beneath Kaito's charming smile and piercing green eyes.
