**Caught in the Lie**
Part 2
The rest of my day was a blur as I couldn't shake off the feeling of being caught by Ethan. I had managed to perfect the art of deception, but it seemed like he had seen right through me. As I walked to my next class, I couldn't help but think about what had just happened. Ethan's words kept echoing in my mind - "Trouble?" and "At this time of day? With someone else?" - and I knew I had to clear up the misunderstanding. I decided to head to the student lounge to gather my thoughts and come up with a plan. As I sat down on a couch, I noticed Ethan walking towards me, a cup of coffee in his hand. He spotted me and made his way over, his eyes fixed on mine. "Hey, we need to talk," he said, his voice firm but not unkind. I felt a knot in my stomach as I nodded, trying to think of what to say. "About what?" I asked, trying to play dumb. Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Don't play stupid with me. I know exactly what I'm talking about. You and that text message. You're not exactly careful, are you?" I felt my face heat up as I tried to come up with a lie. "Uh, that? That was just... a wrong number. Yeah, that's it. A wrong number." Ethan chuckled, a low, mocking sound. "A wrong number? At 2 pm on a Tuesday? With a 'hey, what's up' message? I'm not fucking stupid, you know." I felt my eyes widen as I realized I had been caught. Ethan's words cut through my deception like a knife, and I was left standing there, feeling exposed and vulnerable. "I... I don't know what you're talking about," I stammered, trying to salvage what was left of my dignity. Ethan leaned in, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Don't lie to me. I can see right through you. You're not the perfect girlfriend you pretend to be, and I'm not buying it." I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized that Ethan knew more about me than I thought. And I had a feeling that this was just the beginning of a very complicated situation.
