An Unplanned Evening

The night had slipped away quietly, with Taehyun and Yeonjun wrapped up in their own little world. As they settled into the couch, Taehyun felt a deep sense of comfort and relaxation wash over him. He glanced over at Yeonjun, who was gazing at him with a soft smile. "Thanks for tonight," Taehyun said, his voice barely above a whisper. Yeonjun's smile grew wider. "No need to thank me," he said. "I had a great time too." Taehyun nodded, feeling a warmth spread through his chest. He loved moments like these, where it was just him and Yeonjun, without any distractions or expectations. As they sat there in comfortable silence, Taehyun's mind began to wander. He thought about Joon-oh, and how he had cancelled their plans without a second thought. It wasn't like him to be so flaky, but at the same time, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he had made the right decision. The doorbell rang, breaking the spell. Taehyun looked at Yeonjun in surprise. "Who could that be?" he wondered aloud. Yeonjun shrugged. "Maybe it's Joon-oh, checking in?" Taehyun got up to answer the door, his heart skipping a beat as he opened it to reveal Joon-oh standing on the porch, a sheepish grin on his face. "Hey, I'm so sorry again for standing you up," Joon-oh said, holding up a bag of food. "I brought dinner, and I was thinking we could catch up?" Taehyun's eyes flicked to Yeonjun, who was watching the scene with interest. He felt a pang of guilt, realizing that he had essentially replaced Joon-oh with Yeonjun. "It's okay, Joon-oh," Taehyun said, stepping aside to let him in. "We actually ended up just hanging out here." Joon-oh's eyes lit up as he took in the scene. "Oh, cool! I didn't mean to intrude." Yeonjun stood up, a warm smile on his face. "Not at all, Joon-oh. Come on in." As Joon-oh entered, Taehyun couldn't help but feel a sense of awkwardness. He wasn't sure how to navigate this situation, with both his friends now standing in his living room. But as they sat down to eat, something unexpected happened. The three of them began to talk and laugh together, like they always did. The tension that had built up earlier dissipated, replaced by a sense of camaraderie and friendship.
