Morning After
Part 10
Maya's eyes slowly fluttered open, her body groggy and disoriented. She was met with a wave of nausea that washed over her, making her stomach churn. She tried to sit up, but the sensation only intensified, causing her to feel dizzy and lightheaded. Sean, sensing her distress, stirred beside her and reached out to gently stroke her hair. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked, his voice low and soothing. Maya tried to respond, but her body seemed to be rebelling against her. She felt a cold sweat break out on her forehead, and her mouth began to water uncontrollably. Sean quickly realized what was happening and sat up, pulling her into his lap. "Morning sickness?" he asked, his eyes filled with concern. Maya nodded, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over her. She had been so careful, so meticulous about her health and well-being, but it seemed that her body had other plans. Sean gently stroked her hair, his touch calming and reassuring. "It's okay, I've got you," he said, his voice filled with a deep affection. As the nausea washed over her, Maya felt Sean's hand gently grasp the back of her hair, holding it back as she leaned over the side of the couch. She was vaguely aware of him grabbing a trash can and holding it in place, just in case. The wave of nausea slowly receded, leaving Maya feeling drained and exhausted. Sean continued to hold her hair back, his touch gentle and soothing. "I'm so sorry," she whispered, her voice barely audible. Sean's response was immediate. "Don't apologize," he said, his voice filled with warmth. "You're not alone, I'm here for you." As the morning sickness slowly passed, Maya felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. She was grateful for Sean's presence, for his love and support. She knew that she could face anything, as long as he was by her side. Sean gently helped her back onto the couch, where she lay down, feeling exhausted and spent. He pulled a blanket over her and sat down beside her, his hand gently stroking her hair. "Rest," he said, his voice low and soothing. "I've got you." As Maya drifted off to sleep, she knew that she was exactly where she was meant to be. She was with Sean, and he was taking care of her. And in that moment, everything felt right with the world.
