"Beyond the Threshold of Reality"

Part 34

When the pain subsided, Alex and Sophia were left feeling drained and shaken, their eyes fixed on Dr. Thompson's concerned face. But as they tried to process what had just happened, they were suddenly hit with a new wave of visions, like a fresh onslaught of messages from the multiverse. This time, the images were unbearably graphic. Alex and Sophia saw themselves standing in front of Dr. Thompson, but the scene quickly turned into a nightmare. They saw their own bodies, lifeless and still, with Dr. Thompson's face twisted in shock and terror. The photographs that appeared in their minds were gruesome and disturbing. Alex saw herself wearing the same outfit, but with a crucial difference - her black scoop-neck top was now stained with crimson, as if her cleavage had been filled with blood. Her neck was sliced open, a gaping wound that seemed to stare back at her like an open mouth. Sophia's vision was just as horrific. She saw herself wearing a plunging V-neck, but it was now stained with blood oozing from her neck. The wound was deep and jagged, as if someone had ripped her open with a cruel blade. Both Alex and Sophia recoiled in horror, their minds reeling from the sheer brutality of the images. They felt like they were being shown their own deaths, as if the multiverse was trying to convey a message that was both deadly and inescapable. Dr. Thompson's face was pale and drawn, his eyes wide with fear. "What's happening?" he whispered, as if he couldn't bear to look at the couple. Alex and Sophia couldn't respond. They were frozen in shock, their minds reeling from the implications of what they had just seen. They knew that they had been killed in another universe, that their lives were being played out in a multitude of different realities, each with its own unique and deadly outcome. The photographs lingered in their minds, haunting and disturbing, like a grim reminder of the fate that awaited them. They knew that they had to find a way to stop the bleeding of universes, to prevent their own deaths from becoming a reality. But as they looked at Dr. Thompson, they wondered if he was the one who could help them, or if he was just a helpless bystander in their desperate struggle to survive. The silence between them was oppressive, heavy with foreboding. Alex and Sophia knew that they were running out of time, that their lives were hanging in the balance. They had to act, and fast, or risk becoming the latest victims of the multiverse's deadly games.
