"A Newfound Sense of Comfort"
Part 18
A Newfound Sense of Comfort I slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in my surroundings. I was in a small, cozy guest room, surrounded by soft blankets and warm lighting. As I tried to sit up, I felt a pair of arms wrapped tightly around my waist, holding me in place. I froze, my heart racing, as I realized that Erwin's arms were wrapped around me. At first, I felt a surge of panic and uncertainty. I didn't know how I felt about being so close to Erwin, especially after everything that had happened with Levi. But as I looked down at his arms, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. His hands were gentle, his touch soothing, and I could feel the warmth of his body radiating into mine. I didn't move, unsure of what to do next. Erwin's chest rose and fell with each breath, and I could feel his heartbeat against my back. It was a comforting sound, one that seemed to calm my racing thoughts. As I lay there, I couldn't help but think about the events of the previous day. Levi's betrayal still hurt, but with Erwin by my side, I felt a sense of hope that I hadn't felt in a long time. I thought about the way he had listened to me, the way he had offered me comfort and support without judgment. Slowly, I relaxed into his arms, feeling a sense of comfort and security that I hadn't experienced in a long time. I didn't know what the future held, but with Erwin's arms around me, I felt like I could face anything. Erwin stirred, his eyes fluttering open as he wrapped his arms tighter around me. "Good morning," he whispered, his voice husky with sleep. I smiled, feeling a sense of shyness wash over me. "Good morning," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. We lay there for a moment, Erwin's arms still wrapped around me. I could feel his warmth, his gentle breathing, and I felt a sense of peace that I hadn't experienced in a long time. Eventually, Erwin untangled himself from me, sitting up and rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "How are you feeling?" he asked, his voice gentle. I shrugged, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside me. "I'm okay, I think," I replied. "Still trying to process everything." Erwin nodded, his eyes filled with understanding. "Take your time," he said. "You're not alone in this. I'm here for you, no matter what." I smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude toward him. He was right; I wasn't alone. And with Erwin by my side, I felt like I could face anything that came my way. As we sat there in silence, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held. Would I be able to forgive Levi, or was our relationship truly over? And what about Erwin? Was he just being kind and supportive, or was there something more to his feelings? I didn't have any answers, but with Erwin's gentle presence surrounding me, I felt a sense of hope that I hadn't felt in a long time. Maybe, just maybe, I was exactly where I was meant to be.
