A Moment of Solitude with Bakugou
Part 31
"Bakugou-chan!" I called out, my voice carrying across the empty park. He looked up from where he was sitting on the swings, his eyes narrowing as he took in my presence. For a moment, we just stared at each other, the only sound being the gentle rustling of the trees in the breeze. I walked over to him, my heart pounding in my chest. I had no doubt that the others would arrive soon, but I was determined to make the most of the time I had with him. I sat down beside him on the swings, looking up at the sky as I tried to gather my thoughts. Bakugou, on the other hand, was already getting restless. He shifted uncomfortably, his eyes darting towards me as he waited for me to get to the point. But to my surprise, he didn't blow up. Yet. "Tell me, Bakugou-chan," I said, my voice calm and even. "What do you think is the most important thing for a hero?" He snorted, his expression twisting into a scowl. "Winning," he replied immediately, his voice dripping with conviction. "Being strong. Being the best." I nodded, expecting as much. "I pledge to be number one," he muttered, his eyes flashing with determination. "Of course you said that," I said, a small smile playing on my lips. "But tell me, is that really what being a hero is all about?" Bakugou's expression turned fierce, his fists clenching as he turned to face me. "That's why I will be a hero," he continued, his voice rising. "I will be the strongest." He paused, his chest heaving with excitement, as he gazed out at the sky. For a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of something else in his eyes, something that looked almost like... doubt. But it was gone before I could grasp it, replaced by his usual confident smirk. I leaned in, my voice taking on a more serious tone. "Bakugou-chan, I want to talk to you about something. Something that's been bothering me lately." But before I could continue, I heard the sound of footsteps approaching. I knew it was only a matter of time before the others arrived, and our conversation was interrupted. But I was determined to make my point, no matter what it took.
