"A Life Unraveled"
Part 2
A voice from outside the room called in, “Mom, are you done in there? Dad wants us to meet him at home.” The person speaking walked in, and my eyes widened as I took in her appearance. She looked like Kyaa, but with distinct differences. Her hair was a vibrant blonde, and her skin had a warm, golden glow, likely from spending time in the sun. Her eyes, however, were unmistakably Kyaa's - the same shape, the same sparkle, but with a hint of youthful energy. The woman walked into the room, her gaze fixed on her phone as she typed away with her thumbs. “I don’t know why you want to see this loser. He never wakes up.” Her tone was casual, but there was a hint of disdain in her voice. She looked up, and our eyes met for the first time. She froze, her expression shifting from indifference to surprise. Kyaa's eyes darted to her daughter, and she seemed to tense up, as if bracing herself for an explosion. "Akira, give us a minute," she said, her voice firm but polite. Akira - the name suited her. She was a younger version of Kyaa, but with a modern twist. Her features were softer, her eyes less lined, and her hair a brighter, more vibrant color. She looked at me with a mixture of curiosity and disdain, her eyes lingering on me for a moment before she turned back to her phone. "Fine," Akira said, tucking her phone into her pocket. "But make it quick. Dad's waiting." She turned to leave, but not before casting a dismissive glance in my direction. "You're not going to wake up, are you?" she said, her voice laced with skepticism. Kyaa's eyes followed her daughter, a mixture of sadness and frustration etched on her face. When Akira was gone, Kyaa turned back to me, her expression softening. "I'm sorry about that," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "She's...a bit of a handful sometimes." I tried to process what was happening. Who was Akira? And what did she mean by "Dad"? I looked at Kyaa, hoping for some answers, but she just shook her head. "It's a lot to explain," she said, her eyes filling with tears. "But I promise, I'll tell you everything. Just...please, try to stay with me, okay?"
