**Chapter 1: The Unexpected Change**

Part 1

Tony Wyzek was just another ordinary thirteen-year-old kid living in New York City, or so he thought. He was a freshman at James Madison High School, trying to navigate the complexities of adolescence amidst the chaos of city life. His daily routine consisted of attending school, hanging out with friends, and helping his parents at their family-owned deli in Manhattan. However, Tony's life was about to take a drastic turn. It started with strange occurrences. At first, Tony dismissed them as a side effect of puberty, but as time passed, the events became more frequent and intense. He would be walking down the hallway at school, and his locker would slam shut on its own. His friends would tease him, thinking it was just a prank, but Tony knew it wasn't. He began to experience vivid dreams, filled with eerie landscapes and ghostly apparitions. One evening, while Tony was walking home from the deli, he stumbled upon a group of teenagers being chased by a pack of ghostly spirits. Without thinking, Tony raised his hands, and to his astonishment, a blast of ectoplasmic energy shot out, sending the ghosts flying. The teens turned to him in shock, and Tony, confused and frightened, ran away as fast as he could. That night, Tony couldn't shake off the feeling that something was different about him. He felt an unusual energy coursing through his veins, like his body was trying to tell him something. As he lay in bed, he noticed that his hands were glowing with a faint, ghostly light. The next day, Tony's parents sat him down for a talk. They seemed concerned, and Tony couldn't help but wonder if they knew something he didn't. "Tony, we need to talk about your past," his mother said gently. "You know you're adopted, right?" Tony nodded, though he had never really thought much about it. His parents had always been open about his adoption, but he had never pressed for more information. "Well, we've been doing some research, and it seems that your biological family... they were a bit... unconventional," his father said, exchanging a nervous glance with his mother. Tony's curiosity was piqued. "What do you mean?" His mother hesitated before speaking. "They were involved in some... paranormal activities. Ghost hunting, to be specific." Tony's eyes widened as a shiver ran down his spine. "Ghost hunting?" His father nodded. "Yes, and it seems that you might have been exposed to something when you were a child. Something that could be connected to your... abilities." Tony's mind was racing. What did this mean? And what had happened to him when he was a child? He felt a sudden urge to learn more about his biological family and the mysterious circumstances surrounding his adoption. As Tony looked at his glowing hands, he knew that his life was about to change in ways he never could have imagined. The question was, was he ready for what was coming?
