Moonlight Comfort
Part 2
Hush, now, darling, you're not bad, Tonks said, trying to soothe Remus's frazzled nerves. Remus looked up at her with big, innocent eyes and said, I a baby? The way he said it, with such vulnerability and simplicity, made Tonks burst into laughter. Yeah, you're my baby, Tonks said, smiling at him. I baby, Remus repeated, his tail wagging excitedly as he gazed up at Tonks with adoration. Yeah, I know you're my baby, Tonks said, her laughter dying down as she looked into his eyes. I cute? Remus asked, his voice filled with hope, his eyes shining with a puppy-like excitement. You're very cute, Tonks said, her voice gentle as she stroked his fur. Remus's face lit up with a bright, goofy grin, and he let out a happy yelp. Tonks couldn't help but laugh again at his antics. As they sat there, wrapped in each other's arms, Tonks felt a sense of peace wash over her. Despite the chaos and uncertainty of Remus's transformations, in this moment, everything felt right with the world. Remus, still grinning, nuzzled his head into Tonks's chest, and she wrapped her arms around him, holding him close. They sat there in comfortable silence for a while, the only sound the gentle hum of the kitchen appliances and Remus's soft breathing. Eventually, Remus's eyes began to droop, and he let out a contented sigh. I sleepy, he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Okay, baby, Tonks said, her voice soft. She gently rocked him back and forth, cradling him in her arms, until he drifted off to sleep. As she looked down at Remus's peaceful face, Tonks felt her heart swell with love and affection for this sweet, vulnerable creature. She knew that she would do anything to protect and care for him, no matter what challenges lay ahead. And as she sat there, holding Remus close, Tonks knew that she would face whatever the future held, as long as she had him by her side.
