**Chapter 3: The Heist Begins**

Part 3

As we sped through the Parisian night, the city's underbelly whizzing by in a blur, Daisuke's infectious laughter mingled with the roar of the motorcycle's engine. The wind whipped through our hair, and the neon lights of the city's streets cast a kaleidoscope of colors across our faces. I felt alive, the rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins like fuel for the heist ahead. We arrived at the Musée d'Orsay in record time, the building's grand Beaux-Arts façade looming before us like a sleeping giant. I killed the engine, and we dismounted, stretching our limbs and surveying the surroundings. The museum's rear entrance was a nondescript door, easily overlooked by the casual passerby. I flashed Daisuke a sly smile. "This is where the magic happens." With a flick of my wrist, I activated the smartwatch's hacking module, and a few seconds later, the door swung open with a soft creak. We slipped inside, finding ourselves in a dimly lit corridor lined with the museum's service areas. Zero Cool's voice crackled over the comms link, her tone smooth as silk. "Arsène, I've got the security feeds online. I've created a window of opportunity for you – about ten minutes before the system resets." I nodded, even though she couldn't see me. "Got it. Daisuke, we need to move. Our target is the 'Starlight Serenade' necklace, currently on display in the Galerie des Gobelins." We moved swiftly, our footsteps echoing off the stone floors as we navigated the labyrinthine corridors. I could feel Daisuke's eyes on me, his gaze drinking in the layout of the museum. He was already planning our exit strategy, I was sure of it. As we approached the gallery, the sound of murmured conversations and clinking glasses drifted through the doorway. The museum's wealthy patrons were gathered for a charity gala, oblivious to the fact that a pair of skilled thieves was about to crash their party. I pushed open the door, and we slipped inside, blending in with the guests. The 'Starlight Serenade' necklace sparkled under glass, its diamonds and sapphires glinting like stars in the dim light. Daisuke's eyes locked onto the display case, his gaze burning with intensity. "Time to get to work," I whispered, producing a slim device from my pocket. "Zero's provided us with a custom-made resonance frequency generator. This should disable the case's security measures for a few minutes." Daisuke's grin was all the confirmation I needed. With a flick of my wrist, the device emitted a high-pitched whine, and the display case's alarms fell silent. The glass slid open with a soft hiss, and Daisuke carefully lifted out the necklace. For an instant, we just stared at the glittering treasure, the thrill of the heist coursing through our veins. Then, with a swift motion, Daisuke tucked the necklace into his jacket pocket, and we melted into the crowd, disappearing into the night, leaving behind a trail of confusion and delight. The game was on, and we were just getting started.
