Blood in the Mirror

Part 21

The evening's elegance was shattered as a blood-curdling scream pierced the air, followed by a chorus of panicked shouts. The event was put on hold, and the once-peaceful atmosphere turned into chaos. James's eyes scanned the area, trying to locate the source of the commotion, and that's when he saw them - a group of ladies pointing towards the bathroom, their faces white with horror. "Victoria had been murdered!" someone shouted, and the scream echoed through the area. James's heart skipped a beat as he turned towards the bathroom, but that's when he saw her - "Victoria" standing right in front of him, a calm smile on her face. The ladies' cries grew louder, and James felt a wave of confusion wash over him. He looked at "Victoria" again, and his mind reeled. This couldn't be happening. He had just been talking to her, and she had been with him for the past few minutes. "Someone's just playing a sick joke," "Victoria" said, her voice laced with amusement. "This is ridiculous. I mean, who would do something like this?" But James knew that it wasn't Victoria who was standing with him. He could see it in her eyes, in the way she smiled. This was an imposter, someone who had stolen Victoria's identity. The security guards rushed towards the bathroom, and James followed closely behind. As they entered the bathroom, they were met with a gruesome sight. Victoria's lifeless body lay on the floor, her head severed from her neck. The room was in disarray, and a sharp knife lay nearby. The guards gasped in shock, and James felt like he had been punched in the gut. He turned to "Victoria," who was still standing calmly by his side. "You need to come with us," one of the guards said, his voice firm. "We need to figure out what's going on here." "Victoria" raised an eyebrow, a hint of annoyance in her voice. "I don't know what kind of game you're playing, but I'm not going anywhere. I'm Victoria, and I demand to know why you're all making such a fuss." James shook his head, his mind racing. He knew that this was not Victoria, and he was determined to find out who this imposter was and what she wanted. He took a step back, his eyes locked on "Victoria," and that's when he saw it - a faint glimmer of malevolence in her eyes, a hint of something sinister lurking beneath the surface.
