"Revealing the Truth"
Part 24
Twenty weeks into her pregnancy, Ashley felt like a different person. She had settled into her part-time routine at the community centre, and her colleagues had become like a second family to her. As she got dressed for her appointment, she couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. Today was the day she would find out her baby's gender. Ashley slipped on her jeans and a comfortable top, feeling the familiar contours of her growing belly. She had just bought a new phone, and she was eager to take some selfies to document her pregnancy journey. She smiled to herself as she thought about the adorable baby outfits she had picked out, complete with tiny onesies and soft socks. The community centre had been incredibly supportive, and they had even provided a beautiful crib for the baby. Ashley felt grateful for their kindness and generosity. As she headed out the door, she ran into Karen, who was beaming with excitement. "Hey, girl! How are you feeling today?" Karen asked, eyeing Ashley's rounded belly. "I'm feeling good," Ashley replied, smiling. "A little nervous, but mostly excited." Karen nodded, her eyes shining with anticipation. "I know exactly what you mean. I'm so excited for you! I feel like I've been waiting for this moment for weeks." Ashley laughed, feeling a surge of gratitude towards her friend. "I know, me too! I'm ready to find out what I'm having." Karen leaned in, her voice full of enthusiasm. "Well, I'm sure you'll be amazing either way. But just in case, I'm rooting for a little girl. You and a baby girl would be adorable together." Ashley grinned, feeling a sense of affection for her friend. "Thanks, Karen. That means a lot to me. Wish me luck!" Karen smiled and gave Ashley a quick hug. "You don't need luck, you're going to rock this! But I'll still wish you good luck. Have a great time, and call me as soon as you find out, okay?" Ashley nodded, feeling a sense of excitement build inside her. She took a deep breath, grabbed her phone, and headed out to her appointment, ready to discover the truth about her baby's gender. With a spring in her step and a smile on her face, Ashley walked to the medical centre, feeling like she was on the verge of a new adventure. She was eager to find out whether she was having a boy or a girl, and she couldn't wait to start planning for her little one's arrival. The anticipation was almost too much to bear, but Ashley was determined to enjoy every moment of this journey. As she walked into the medical centre, she felt a sense of calm wash over her, and she knew that she was ready for whatever the future held.
