"Hyperfocus"
Part 53
As Kageyama walked back to his room, he couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had been building up inside him. But as he entered his room, his gaze landed on a small, forgotten pen lying on his desk. It was an ordinary pen, one that he had used countless times before, but for some reason, he became fixated on it. He picked it up, and began to examine it closely, studying every detail, every scratch, every imperfection. Hinata, who was sitting on his bed, looked up at Kageyama with concern. "Kageyama, what's going on? You've been acting really strange all day," he said, but Kageyama didn't respond. He was too busy studying the pen, his eyes scanning every millimeter of its surface. Hinata got up and walked over to Kageyama, trying to pry the pen out of his hand. "Kageyama, snap out of it. What's going on?" he asked, but Kageyama shook him off. He was too focused on the pen, too consumed by his hyper-fixation. As the night wore on, Kageyama's fixation on the pen only intensified. He began to notice things that he had never noticed before - the way the light reflected off the pen's surface, the sound of the pen scratching against the paper, the feel of the pen in his hand. It was as if he had entered a different state of consciousness, one where nothing else existed except for the pen. Hinata tried to intervene, but Kageyama pushed him away. He was too busy, too consumed by his hyper-fixation. He spent hours studying the pen, drawing it, writing with it, and even talking to it. Hinata was at a loss, unsure of what to do. He had never seen Kageyama like this before, and he didn't know how to snap him out of it. As the hours turned into days, Kageyama's hyper-fixation on the pen only grew stronger. He stopped eating, stopped sleeping, and stopped interacting with his friends. He was completely and utterly consumed by the pen, and nothing else seemed to matter. Oikawa, who had been keeping an eye on Kageyama from afar, was worried. He had never seen Kageyama like this before, and he didn't know how to help him. He tried to talk to him, but Kageyama just ignored him, too focused on his pen to listen. As the days turned into weeks, Kageyama's room became a mess. Papers were scattered everywhere, and the pen was everywhere. He had drawn it, written about it, and even made a shrine out of it. Hinata and Oikawa were at a loss, unsure of what to do. They had never seen Kageyama like this before, and they didn't know how to snap him out of it. But Oikawa was determined to help his friend. He knew that Kageyama's hyper-fixation was a symptom of something deeper, something that he needed to understand. He began to research, pouring over books and articles, trying to find a way to help Kageyama. And as he dug deeper, he began to uncover a strange connection between Kageyama's hyper-fixation and his own strange dreams. It was as if their minds were connected, and Oikawa was determined to find out how.
